2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Has everyone voted for naming the one-day Cup? CA set three key criteria:
1) elite record in the domestic One-Day Cup
2) top ODI player for Australia
3) player who has had a major impact on the game

I didnt even have to think about it, immediately voted for Michael Bevan 😀

Squads for the first 50 over game Sunday

WA: Ashton Turner ©, Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Hilton Cartwright, Keaton Critchell, Baxter Holt, Bryce Jackson, Matt Kelly, Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson, D’Arcy Short, Andrew Tye, Sam Whiteman

NSW: Ollie Davies, Jack Edwards ©, Matthew Gilkes, Liam Hatcher, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Nic Maddinson, Jack Nisbet, Josh Philippe, Will Salzmann, Tanveer Sangha, Lachlan Shaw
That list is absolutely sparse of batsmen. FC journeymen and promising youngsters that don't deliver. Sobering to think Bancroft is the best of them with Davies the best young hope. That WA attack though ... Hopefully Richardson and Morris can get and stay fit as next best to come into the test team.

The Aus A vs India A game will definitely be the best sign of who they're looking at as far as options go. You'd think it'd be similar names to last year - Bancroft, Renshaw, McSweeney.

If he lights up the early part of the season, forces his way into the Aus A game and then does well there too he'd be a massive chance.
Exactly. Similar to green last time India toured. Green got that debut on the back of a season and a half of shield form + a hundred for Aus-A.

Interested to know what an actual Aus A team would look like, my guess (assuming everyone is hypothetically fully fit) is something like this

Bancroft
Renshaw
McSweeney
Hardie
Webster
Davies
Pierson
Neser
Richardson (if he's up to FC cricket physically by then, which seems unlikely from what I gather)
Rocchiccioli
Boland

I suspect the actual team picked will skew a bit younger though, especially on bowling

Pierson is underrated for sure, reckon the selectors would have Inglis ahead of him though. Possibly Philippe too which would be wrong but he's a bit of a golden boy

Yeah Inglis over Pierson absolutely a fair call, certainly not Philippe though who imo should have given up the gloves long ago

Must admit I kinda forgot about Murphy too, he would likely be in
