Most guys can bat to some degree these days
E.g Cummins and Lyon both have first grade hundreds while Starc has a test 99
No reason why they couldn’t average much higher with the bat in fc if they really applied themselves
Manenti obviously has ability with the bat and now he’s got the confidence & application

Cummins spent years in the nets working on his batting when he was out injured working on his action and his batting never really went past handy #8 levels at the higher levels. Doubt Cummins would ever be able to bat like manenti has the past season and a half.

I was, and remain an advocate for Stokes languishing in a 6x8 foot cell in Pentonville Road Gaol, not because I am a lawyer but because common decency demands violent, recidivist thugs are put away regardless of how well they hit a cricket ball. His fame kept him out of the jug, nothing else.
