James Hopes still has more to do for me to convinced of his worth. He reminds me a lot of Ian Harvey but I have never been a big fan of his. A couple of freak occurences should not overshadow the otherwise mediocrity of Harvey's play.

Qld had a good start to the season seeing Martin Love didn't contribute at all (run wise). Symonds was great. I hope he can get another go at test level. It was a hard spot to make your debut (Sri Lanka).

Tait fired up for SA and I would like to see him get a go sometime during the summer.

Brett Lee shouldn't be in India. His future would be better served playing for NSW and getting match fitness.

It would be good to see Hussey get some runs. It might stop Brad Hodge from getting picked for Aust. Hodge is very overrated IMO.

I would agree with you on Hopes, I have often thought that he was a little too inconsistent. But his innings in the one dayer, to get Qld home in a tight one and again in the first innings when wickets were falling around him, in the end was a match winning one, even his 27 in the second in difficult circumstances says to me he has matured as a player and can be consistent enough this season.

The boy is still young and learning. I know that he got some technical advice on his batting during the off season that has made a difference.

On a side note I have found out recently that I work with Shane Watson's mum. We now have regular chats about how Shane is going on tour and things he says about other players. I found out that he recently got engaged (to a one of the ball room dancers on Dancing with the Stars - Justin Melvy's partner) and is building a new house in Bulimba.

Lucky you mavric.

Now you maybe about to shed us some light on the inner workings of the Australian and mighty Queensland Bulls.

Waughney you look great with the Queensland Bulls avatar.

Considering joining the dark side?

I think the biggest disappointment thus far as been Blignaut. Here is a player who caused more than a few heart flutters in the Australian camp during the 03 World Cup. Yet his bowling versus Western Australia in the recent Pura Cup match bordered in tripe (though I'm sure Hussey didn't mind), and the less said about his batting performance the better.

I only hope he turns his game around in very short order as he promised so much but has not yet managed to deliver. :@

He was fairly poor over here last summer.
Having had a look at his career he seems to be one of those all-rounders who shows infrequent bouts of brilliance during sustained periods of mediocrity.

Well one guy I was disappionted in was Andy Flower when he played for SA last season. I thought he woukd thrive, however, he flopped big time

Did anyone see the spectacular Western Warriors fumble on sports tonight, amazing!
For those of you who didn't see it, the batsman flicked the ball to short leg and it hit him and ballooned up, he proceeded to fumb;e it about 4-5 times and manged to knock it in the direction of the keeper, Campbell, who consequently fumbled it a few times back to the feildsman who again fumbled it a few times and knowcked it in the air, at that point about three of them had come in to take the catch and the ball landed right int eh middle of all three, jus centimetres away. Ah, I have to see that again.

If you watch sports tonight tonight you might catch it in 'plays of the week'. I'll be watching....

Good fightback by the Redbacks, Queensland should be disappointed.

Cleary has bowled pretty well for mine, his slow ball has been really good. The leg-cutter that bowled Nash was an excellent delivery.

I think Queensland might have wasted something here.

Tait's last over has also been quite good... Hopefully he can take the 10th wicket off the final ball of the innings. :D

Does it really matter how he looks? Looks don't win matches. You could be really ugly and the best cricketer your club has ever had.

When I said he's looking absolutely disgraceful, I meant for a person who is supposed to be a professional cricketer. Being well overweight does nothing to help his 'professionalism', and if he were to slim down I've no doubt he would perform better.
