2004/05 Australian domestic season thread

He's a top order batsman who captained Aus U/19 i think and then played a few games for Victoria and looked promising but then he just disappeared off the scene, i think he would be about 24/25 now.

Oh yeh. I'm not sure if he still plays district in Victoria or not. I'll search ResultsVault

Nothing for this season tho, which to me says he's probably the St. Kilda player and the other Michael Klinger is a different player, because generally the player won't be re-registered in the district comps.

Don't quote me on that, I could be wrong.

Vic_Orthodox probably knows more about it

This is a quote from his profile - " He even experienced a prolonged period in the headlines after captain Paul Reiffel amazingly declared an innings closed in Hobart when his score was on 99, and with him just a single run away from a still yet-to-be-secured maiden first-class century."

Ahead of Katich why? Because he tears it up over there in England! That's people's criticism of Mike Hussey coming back to be his forte.

But how does he leapfrog Katich?

Even if they dont take Hussey to England, he'll be playing County Cricket anyway and im sure if Langer or Hayden get injured he'll come straight into the opening spot.

That's India, which is fair enough when you talk about it as his last performance, but it isn't that recent. Since India, I don't think he's been too impressive in domestic cricket.

From what i saw of Katich last week in Hobart, he looked in bad form even thought he made 30-odd.

Katich could develop into a great test player, but he's not getting any younger, and time is ticking.. And he keeps getting dropped. So maybe it's too late for him.

I think it's too late for him to be a 'great' test player.

I think they'll skip Katich now and go straight to the younger guys like Rogers and Thornely, etc.
