im sick of the vics whingeing that we're not given enough respect. we do it every time that we have a win these days. surely there was nothign wrong with maher enforcing the follow on, we probably would have ended up whinging about being batted out of the game if the qlders had have decided to bat again. i mean, how stupid do we think the other states are?

I personally wouldn't have enforced the follow-on, but Maher was going by experience, pretty much everytime the Bulls enforce the follow on they win by an innings. I can't fault Maher for enforcing the follow-on, it was one of those freak things which makes cricket so great. It is the kick in the **** we needed. Victoria may actually end up regretting beating Qld.

while i understand your point, seeing that the vic's season was over if they had have lost, i'd say they wouldn't "regret" winning.

and what was the deck like up there? i heard it was rather green, but hte way qld collapsed in the second innings gives the feeling that it may have been wearing?

Yeah, I thought that as I was clicking 'submit'.

What I should have said, the other teams may regret Victoria beaten Qld. We were cruising, this loss should kick the selectors into gear and prompt them to drop Noffke - let him find another state or fork out a career in grade cricket.

I expect he will be on the next flight to WA then? ;) Going on previous experiences... Magoffin... Edmondson... Petrie...

You can have him. Soon they'll have to rename Western Australia to the Queensland 2nd XI.

Just about!

Magoffin and Edmondson are doing alright, Petrie is doing pretty damn well in grade - well, enough that the 2nd XI selectors have noticed him.

Ahh the irony. We have one of the most favourable pitches for fast bowlers in the world, and yet no fast bowlers of our own..

Yep, give it time, there are some good talents in the DL Fast Bowling Academy.

We've got Brett Dorey, born and raised in Fremantle.

Mate, I'm sure Linda wasn't being serious in her comment, of course we have bowlers of our own, but just not as many and as classy as the past.

We got plenty of pace bowlers coming through the ranks though, James Sprauge, Justin Coetzee, Rob Slowey, Sam Howman, Sam Hogg, Steve Jacques, Andrew James, Corry Verco.. ect.

Give it time, DL seems to be doing some good things with the blokes in the fast bowling academy, here's hoping there will be a few gems coming out of it!

good to see lehmann get 92 (off 94) today. and cullen take wickets. vic won that by 5 wickets.

bevan saved tassie from embarrasment with 90 out of 205, but qld still got a double bonus point (again!!), making 209 in 24 overs. and symonds with the lazy 62 off 35 and hopes 73 off 46. thats almost stickcricket type scoreline! and that was a 1 vs 2 game!

bevan seems to be doing that quite a lot. although cricinfo says his score was actually 89, and that lehmann's 92 was off 96. whatever. good to see the reference to stickcricket to- playing a game right now myself.

despite it being very offtopic, stickcricket ruined my performance in the politics exam.

and i got my score off the cricket australia website, so im sure that urs are correct. btw, will the asia vs icc game clash with the australia a game? i was looking forward to watching the aus 'a' games on tv.

well, queensland picked up their second double bonus point win of the season, reaching the 208 target in 24.1 overs. hopesy opened and made 73 off 46 in his return match, and Symonds hit some good form with 62 not out off 35 balls. Great stuff.

symonds also took 3/45 off 10 overs to continue his good bowling form. bichel took 2/38 off 10, he bowled all his overs in one spell I think judging by the live updates on ABC grandstand.

Good to see Whitey's consistantly scoring runs :) And Mick Lewis continuing his good form with the ball. Dismissed Lehmann caught & bowled.

Crosthwaite took 2 catches, too. A good day for the ex-rosanna players
