    *Official* NZ Domestic Season

This guy Dean Bartlett sounds quite promising. Twould be nice to see some of these young bowlers come through to international level in the next few years. They should preemptively be given the Bond titanium operation now though. Found this > a gif of Bartlett bowling...

    *Official* NZ Domestic Season

Auckland are crap in the ODI games yet successful in the 4 dayers. This is the polar opposite to the Black Caps. Maybe we give the test reins to O'Donnell and leave Bracewell with the ODI unit.

    *Official* NZ Domestic Season

I think most Aucklanders would be completely oblivious there's a domestic game on, let alone knowing how crap Auckland are doing. I heard they televise Auckland games more than most because it is just plain logistically easier for Sky. They live in Auckland just like the commentators:-) I...

I've gotta say I'm ****ed off they aren't showing all the Auckland's Aces games live. Surely it makes sense to show them all based on Auckland's superior population and the fact all the commentators live there. :D

I don't think even Lynn McConnell would be so bold as to call Sideshow Bob one of the world greats. I've been surprised before though:-)

He's preaching to the converted. We love to hear articles telling us how great our players are. :D

It sounds to me like you're a huge fan of Cumming. The stats just don't support your argument. I haven't even heard him mentioned as an option in the media; quite rightly too IMHO.

Vincent throws this theory out the window. He scored a century on debut and went downhill thereafter. We need to stop wrapping the youngsters is cotton wool and throw them to the lions. This lack of confidence talk is what separates us from the Aussies over and above the population disparity.

I forgot to add I'm from Auckland so have no parochialism behind my decision. Although, with My Auckland hat on lets not forget Vincent is averaging 110 in the State Championship and he is only 26.

I really wasn't that impressed with Cumming. If he was going to make it he would have made it by now (Marsellus Wallace, 1994). Screw parochialism and chose the best player. The next in queue is either How, Fulton or Papps. Lets not forget Papps averages 51 in ODIs and has scored two fifties...

Fulton versus Cumming is a no brainer IMHO. Cumming is 29 with a first class average of 35 and ODI domestic average of 19. Whereas, Fulton is 25 with a first class average of 42 and ODI average of 38.

Like I've already said, the guys deveolping a good record ad all power to him. Franklin has done well for NZ in tests but seems to throw pies in ODIs. I'd love a good leftie opening the bowling for NZ in ODI (ala Allott) but he has not quite managed it yet.

You're not related to sideshow-bob-girly-action-mills by any chance?

I made no such accusation. This is not a forum where men discuss their uncomfortable feelings about sportsmen.

    NZ All-time XI

Don't joke. He's taken more test wickets, behind Hadlee, than any other NZers.

**Official** New Zealand v World XI

Yeah, but Ponting doesn't look like sideshow Bob and chuck down medium pacers with a girly action. Still, his record on ODIs is pretty good (in NZ terms). His SR is 39 (Tuffey's is 37.7) and his economy rate is 4.54 (identical to Tuffey's); so I may well be prejudicing the guy based purely on...

. . . . and David White, Carl Bulfin, Robert Kennedy, Roydon Hayes etc etc.

    NZ All-time XI

Definitely. Although Bond has not played many tests, when he is fit he if easily the next best bowler behind Hadlee.
