    2023-24 Australian domestic cricket season

The one real positive IMO is the depth of spin bowling that has come out of nowhere. Murphy and Kuhnemann from the Indian tour but T Sangha, Rocchiccioli and Green as well all seem positive. Even Swepson had a good season. Would be great to get some A tours to the sub continent and see how they...

    2023-24 Australian domestic cricket season

Keen to see how he goes and how his pace holds up. Some of his u19 stuff would have knocked over anyone.

Perfectly set for another Captain Cummins innings. Sorry New Zealand but you never stood a chance.

    ***Official*** Pakistan in Australia 2023/24

While our long term batting looks dire I'm more worried about the bowling. In two years all of Lyon, Starc and Hazlewood could be gone given how quickly pace bowlers can decline or succumb to injury. Neser and Boland while great backups are the same age as Starc and Hazlewood and out of the...

    ***Official*** Pakistan in Australia 2023/24

While it could happen anytime I reckon he could hang around for 2+ years as long as his form holds up. He's in the form of his life in both Tests and Shield and has been our best bat away from home (if not overall). He doesn't have a massive international career like Smith, Warner etc. so he's...

    ***Official*** Pakistan in Australia 2023/24

Personally I don't think Green's suited to number 6 at all in Tests. While capable of aggressive play he typically starts slow. He has shown some success at international level (across all formats) so I don't think it's a mental issue. In limited overs formats I think he's been impacted by being...

Who won’t be there next ashes?

I reckon Smith will still be around for the next Ashes in Australia. The guy lives for cricket so unless he badly loses form he'll be there. It could very well be the series he retires in though. I could still see Lyon around at 38. Spinners have typically held out with age longer than the...

Best Ashes Teams of the Last 20 Years

Mitchell Johnson 2013/14 165 runs @ 27.50 and 37 wickets at 13.97 That said as good as he was in 2013/14 I'd probably go with Ryan Harris for the Australian side. He was always good. Even the 2010/11 Ashes when Australia forgot how to cricket.

    Aus XI india tour?

Assuming full fitness I'd go with something like the below. Renshaw Khawaja Labushagne Smith Head Green Carey Neser/Agar Starc Cummins Lyon Warner is most certainly going to open though. If so I'd tell him to go as hard as possible and hope he can pull out a quick 50 or so but if the choice...

Best players who were not given enough chances by the management

Chris Rogers probably should have had a 40-60 Test Career IMO.

IMO that non review is Fawad's fault having just burnt one poorly.

Averaging 35 will be accepted again

IMO the biggest impact T20 has on Test batting averages are the players that have retired early or avoided long form cricket for various reasons (ABDV and Chris Lynn come to mind). TBH though I can't name too many other players who have followed this path.

Averaging 35 will be accepted again

In my opinion there's many factors but I think the lack of quality and far fewer warm up matches is definitely hurting batting averages for touring bats. England barely had any warm up games in the lead up to the recent ashes. It wouldn't have changed the outcome of the series but definitely...

    Boneheaded decisions by Cricket Australia

Let's add cancelling the Bangladesh Tour of Australia after banning Smith, Warner and Bancroft for "money" reasons. This tour would have given an opportunity for the weaker Australian line up to get some experience/confidence under their belt. Would have also provided a better opportunity to...

    Australian test selection 2019-2020

Warner Burns Labuschagne Smith Pucovski Wade Paine Cummins Pattinson Hazlewood Lyon I don't want to see Bancroft and Harris in the side for a while yet (if ever). If Burns and/or Warner fail then hopefully either Maddinson or Khawaja can come in to open later on. Head's form is too horrible to...

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

The best part about this collapse is that Pattinson will barely have any sort of a work out. Hopefully he'll be able to play the next two tests as well and bypass the rotation policy.
