Looks like the pitch inspectors have found nothing wrong at Durham, which as a Durham fan i'm pleased about obviously..especially considering both last season and this season, we played Lancashire away on terrible pitches which had similar scores, and nothing was done about it.

Me neither....He's played 8 test matches before today and has taken 19 wickets at an avg of 49.36 (econ 3.22). That's nowhere near good enough. For comparison Plunkett & Mahmood, who were both (quite rightly) dropped for being not good enough had these stats when they were dropped Plunkett -...

Seems to be that way...At stumps Kent are 43-5, chasing Durham's massive 146

And Durham beat Leicestershire by a massive margin (in Twenty20 terms), winning with 6.3 overs to spare Leicestershire Innings 119 for 8 (20.0 overs) Durham Innings 123 for 2 (13.3 overs)

Durham going well, 63/1 from 6 overs chasing 120 to win.

Good spell from Harmison against Leicestershire, 2 wickets for 12 runs from his 4 overs. Leicestershire in some trouble 66 for 4 from the first 11 overs.

Durham win, just, with one ball to spare. Doshi takes a hattrick, in virtually pitch black conditions. Exciting stuff, but it shows how bizarre cricket is, playing in the dark, with no floodlights at 9:30pm, just because it's 20/20.

Durham going in to bat now (eventually)....reduced by d/l to 7 overs, with 48 runs required, in very dark and damp conditions. And Di Venuto runs himself out second ball, with no runs on the board.

I don't know either...particularly today playing against Derbyshire who have 2 spinners, and they don't seem to have brought the boundaries in at all.

Collingwood gets 5 wickets for 14 runs from his 4 overs, as Derbyshire finish on 114/9 (scoring only 34 runs in the last 8 overs). But it's dark and wet over the Riverside, and good bowling conditions, so should be a good second half to the match

yeah, looks like Sussex are going to take the title (probably wrapping the win up tonight). Lancashire aren't going to get the win they need (476 runs behind with 5 Surrey wickets still to take). Congratulations to Mark Ramprakash, for passing 2000 runs this season (for I think the second...

A draw won't be enough. If they draw they'll finish behind Durham. Durham have finished with 197.5 points If Lancs draw, they'll have 4 bonus points, plus 4 for the draw, which makes 194 points If Sussex draw they'd have 8 bonus points, plus 4, which will give them 192 points. So both need to...

And Durham win, take 20 points and move (temporarily) to the top of the table. Now we just wait for the other results (and pray for torrential rain over Hove).

Rob Key is bowling now (quote from the commentators on his first delivery "My nan with 2 false hips could bowl a better ball than that" from the Durham commentator and the slightly (but not too much) kinder "That's a bit Village Cricket" from the Kent commentator)

And now Geraint Jones comes on to bowl only his second over in Championship cricket (and gets hit for 6 first ball). So we've got the wicketkeeper bowling an early over, to the opening bowler who's keeping wicket. I don't think Kent are taking this very seriously. Mind, Durham are still...

    ***Official*** English Domestic Season 2007

Kent, defending 52, decide to go for the unusual & unexpected tactic. They start with 2 different opening bowlers (Neil Dexter & Matt Walker) and with Martin Saggers behind the stumps instead of Geraint Jones. Maybe they just want to get the match over and done with.
  17. jakob1978

    ***Official*** English Domestic Season 2007

Kent all out in their second innings for 160 to set Durham 52 to win. So if we can knock these off, that'll be 20 points in the bag, and probably second place in the championship (but still with the hope that Worcestershire will pull off a miracle against Sussex and play out a draw, or that...

Good performance today from Durham, beating Glamorgan by 70 runs. And with Middlesex beating Somerset, that means that Durham win the second division. Congrats to all at Durham, that's 2 trophies this year, and still in with (an outside chance) of the big one next week

I'm listening to the commentary on the radio, and they took the players off 25 minutes ago when it happened, and they're still off. They've called an NHS ambulance, which is on the pitch with 2 paramedics working on him (along with both phsyio's & the doctor), they've put him on a "spinal...

Durham doing well against Sussex, 228/2 after Sussex made 291. And Rana Naved is being stretchered off the field & into an ambulance, after diving to try and stop a 4. Will be a massive blow to Sussex if he's badly injured at such a crucial stage of the season.
