*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

The poms are still likely to win this match if we get much play. The only thing that could stop them is the rain. Though I thought they might have thrown the bat earlier and possibly put us in for a little stint before lunch. To try taking the possible inclement weather out of the equation...

I'm not saying you're wrong, only that I interpreted it differently. After all if you ask twenty people about a traffic accident you're likely to get twenty different versions. The Umpire obviously saw no nick at all. The way I saw it the ball lightly brushed the back of the keepers glove on...

Not seeing why any Aussie would be happy with 2-2. A wash out draw here and a win at the Oval for 3-1 would be acceptable. Not like the pom t20 batting line up will do that again, even against our insipid "best in the world" pace attack. Just gotta hope we can overcome Woakes/Wood who are...

As an Aussie, I don't really hate any pom cricketers (don't know them well enough either way) but I'm especially fond of Broad. Underrated cricketer and went up in my estimation (genuinely) after the "middled it to first slip, so pretend nothing happened and supply your best poker face"...

Rain dance in progress, as we speak.

Cricket seems full of such weirdness and eccentricities in so many ways, which in large part is why it's so enjoyable (to myself at least). I keep telling the wife that an Ashes series in England (and Wales in some instances) has more plot twists and provides more drama and far better...

Agree with this, they have had a huge impact. Along with the Lyon injury.

Yeah, poms definitely up 3-0 in the "but it feels like we won" series. :D

I have high hopes for this test thanks to the weather. Though rather than a washout the best possible outcome from here would be to get some play on Sunday and be 9 down at the end of it. Perhaps after England trap Hazlewood plumb in front in the last over but isn't given and they have no...

Going by the weather report I heard, the longer the poms bat the better for Aus. Would be hilarious if Aus were 8-9 down at stumps and the next 2 days washed out.

First time three Aus seamers have gone for 120+ against the poms. lol.

Poms to go the tonk, set the Aussies 180 and send them in to have a little go before lunch? I think if the Aussies last the day out (and keep the rain dance up) it might be enough.

Jesus that was one sided yesterday. Well done poms, too good. Think Cummins needs a break. Poms seem to have their bowling sorted now, ours is heading south without Lyon. Also seems negative to have both Marsh and Green in the same side. Not sure why you would leave out the spinner? If Murphy...

Weatherman on the radio saying there should be a "good days play" today. But unlikely to be a let up for any play to occur Saturday or Sunday. If the Aussies don't find a way to put the wheels back on, this could be over today.

*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

Not talking up anyone, especially Marsh (could have made a good no. 8 if his bowling was better) but credit where it's due, Marsh's ton is one of the better counter attacking innings I have seen for quite a while and Green has done nothing that would be remotely comparative. My criticisms come...

I'm not saying that. I'm saying that so far, based on results, he is way overrated and perceived "potential" is obviously influencing selectors and allowing what is really a mediocre return so far, to fly under the radar.

Yea, sure. The fact Stokes has proven to be a freakish match winner (especially with the bat, but can be exceptional with the ball) with 13 centuries and 29 fifties through 95 matches over a decade...and who can seem unstoppable when on a roll and snatch victory or turn a series on...

*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

The cricket discussion I don't mind at all. One match defining 50 in SL (Pakistan one wasn't) and a century in a high scoring draw doesn't seem anything to rave about after 23 test matches. When a 50 is your highlight, it says a lot. Winning both by an innings/10 wickets doesn't sound like a...

Not sure it's possible to prove anything, ultimately. Only give reasons for your opinion. If I've been repetitive, oh well, I haven't forced anyone to argue with me. I thought it was just friendly discussion. Apparently not, or maybe a little too friendly? :D

I thought we were having a cricket discussion so unfortunately followed the link which is a bit sick. Really if I get up your nose that much put me on ignore. Reported. .
