*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

Can only assume that was tongue in cheek? If not..... Oh, ok, that would have nothing to do with match officials then.....

Anderson might as well retire if the poms are going to continue preparing batting friendly wickets. It's not surprising he failed, especially against Aus who he is mediocre against in general (more often than not).

That's poor officiating IMO. Stokes trying to claim and even reviewing an obviously dropped catch probably gets the *spirit of cricket* award for the series. He must have been hoping they would just check if it hit Smiths gloves, and not check whether the actual catch was completed.

I couldn't really care less about the WTC but find it amusing that the poms are bigging up a drawn series at home so much. Would find it highly disappointing if that happened to the Aussies in Aus. Especially if we openly ordered specific conditions to our advantage (favourable batting...

    Cummins last two matches/three innings.....0-129, 1-66, 1-79. That's horrendous.

Green's ton was the fourth highest score in a runfest where only two innings were completed. That's good, but it wasn't what you're making it out to be. For some context.

I'm not writing him off. Massively overrated at this stage though, which isn't helping him.

He doesn't have to. *beautiful technique*

Nah, that bowling was too good. No harm acknowledging we have been outplayed. I thought we put up a good fight (better than I was expecting) but poms too good in the end. The pom bowling has been far better than ours with Broad, Wood and Woakes exceptional, that's been the difference.

I remember being told he was *as good as* Stokes. As all rounders go, he was a ways behind Tod Murphy.

Well done poms. The better team this series, despite 2-2.

*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

That's not what I wrote though. What I actually wrote was the '19 Aussie team seemed good enough to win that series. We were denied by a freak innings from Stokes but still went on to win the 4th test. Seems they might have celebrated a little too freely after that and makes it more...

*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

Hesitate to say this but I think we have run out of plot twists in this one. The Aussies look done and on form aren't going to chases these runs. A good chance here for Smithy to improve his 4th innings stats (in 24 innings so far ave 28 with 4 fifties and 0 hundreds), or for a few others to...

In fairness to Aus they spent most of the day fetching the ball from the stands.

Not so sure bowling first s a good idea.

We don't really do maths in Aus. Don't need it when you can lift heavy things  .

Yeah, wouldn't be against that if Starc is fit.

Nah, I think the Aussies can rightly feel disappointed at not being 3-0 up at the moment. Had their chances. :D

*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

I really think the team below will be their preferred eleven. Though they'll see how everyone pulls up with injuries. Think I'd rather pick Green as a bowler at 8 rather than have Abbott in team if Starc is injured. They would probably never do that though, as that would be too much bowling. So...
