Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

You have changed your stance so many times it's not funny. First you have a prob with NZ's sportsmanship. Then you don't. Then you have a prob with the rule. Then you say it's the interpretation of the rule. Then you say you aren't blaming NZ but in the same breath claim that they could...

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

He ONCE let fly at Graeme Smith - and admitted THAT was a planned strategy. I think you need to get your facts straight before you go making accusations. And as far as sledging goes, don't you think MY team (Australia) are far worse at that than NZ?

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

Oh please... ducking and weaving again. Either you have a problem with them, or you don't. I don't care for semantics. You have a problem with NZ.

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

LOL when Murali was batting with Sanga earlier on I was thinking FFS DON'T wander out of your crease  I don't want to go through this all over again

 Yes you are! Wtf? "I am not blaming NZ for not being sporting... but they had the chance to do the sporting thing and they didn't" <<<<<< If you aren't blaming NZ, what is that???    I think you should quit while you're.... behind?

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

Are we? I'm not sure ... but whatever  Agree with you on Ponting. I get a LOT of crap thrown at me at another forum because I'm an Aussie who doesn't rate his captaincy! But he is almost without peer as a batsman. Kangas? Get knotted! I'm a Magpie :P

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

I've given plenty of good debate here - in fact I've ripped you apart because you keep changing your stance. You're not even sure what you're arguing! And as far as your assertion about the Kiwis... where are these examples? I'm more inclined to say it's the Pakis who "do it more...

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

Well given that the umps don't seem to be interpreting the way you think they should be, perhaps what you are actually advocating is a change in the rules? Give me a break. If a guy goes wandering out of his crease while the ball is still live - esp a test veteran - then he DESERVES to be run...

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

Just saw this and thought I should post it. This guy has pretty much said what I've been saying  http://www.ashburtonguardian.co.nz/index.asp?articleid=8484 Sportsthought - The (PC) crowd goes wild By Matt Richens Can the PC brigade please leave sport alone? Go away. Don’t come back...

No problem :) I agree, sponsors would prefer good sportsmanship and yes, you are right about Warne. Look, it's great if players can show sportsmanship. However, my point is that given the amount of money involved in elite cricket these days, it shouldn't be expected. And that applies to...

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

Show me where I said, "They are on a lot of money and under a lot of pressure they can't be good sports". Don't twist my words 8-) Umm sponsorship is about exposure. Why do you think offer so many deals to people like Warnie?

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

All that post tells me is that you are a kiwi hater. ALL teams do these things. Get over it 8-)

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

So now it's the umpire who is at fault? Let me get this straight, the fault lies with NZ, the umpires and the rules. Make up your mind what you actually believe 8-)

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

So it's not NZ sportsmanship that you are really moaning about, it's the rule itself?

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

I see...so would you whinge so much if a guy knicked it and stood his ground? Or if it wasn't clear that a catch had carried but the player said they caught it? Come on..these things happen all the time. Build a bridge....

I thought that - but I didn't want to say it

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

You are deluding yourself if you think modern Test cricket is still just a "sport". Consider how much money some of these guys are on. Consider the amount of revenue it generates. Think about the sponsors .. etc.... It is a business and players are highly paid professionals.

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

You are delusional if you think it's only Kiwis. Imran Khan has admitted to ball tampering, the bookies largely reside in India, former SL captain Ranatunga once refused to shake Mark Taylor's hand after a match in which there were several heated exchanges (a REAL case of poor sportsmanship if...

Murali's run out and the spirit of the game.

If you are going to argue on the basis of cricket being 'a gentleman's game' and the spirit of the game that goes with it - then it's very relevant because all of that was lost when the game became professional. This whole thing about the 'gentleman's game' goes back to an era when you had...
