    ICC Champions Trophy 2004

Bangladesh's Test status came about due to asian politics. That's ALL. It had absolutely nothing to do with competence.

    World Cup 2007

they've baseballized the game by the way they play.

    **Official** Bangladesh in West Indies

i think bangladesh will do well actually, and i don't think we'll see another Lara triple. Perhaps a century since he has his eyes on a century against every test tem, in addition to the WI century record. There is also the small matter of WI not being humiliated by Bangladesh.

    Wisden's Cricketers of the Century

What about William Ponsford? Only man (except Lara) to have two FC 400s.

don't get me wrong. there were celebrations, but nothing on the scale of lara's 400*. but even the 400*was more muted compared to the 375. what i'm saying is that the problem of WI cricket goes far beyond a Lara 400* or a 418/6 run-chase. Sure, in the last 5 series we've won 2 (Zim and SL) and...

i know, even sachin was 16 or so....but 14 years???

    World Cup 2007

USA will find a hard time to qualify. I agree that the USA can host maybe one or two matches but there are rumors that the ICC wants them to host a semi final or even the final.

    World Cup 2007

i think matthew hayden has already done that. and there are a few others, ricardo powell and shahid afridi..

    under 15 years??? that's incredible.

400* or 3-1? I think definitely 400* was more uplifting and significant to WI cricket. 3-1 would have been just like last year's series. that match in Antigua also ended with a world record 418/6 chase by the WI. it really was a muted thing when compared to the 400*.

    lara vs tendulkar

no, but andy flower was a great and under rated batsman. In addition though, flower never scored the type of innings that Lara did. 153*,213 and the WR twice in addition or the 501*? Lara for the last two years has been averaging over 74. And this without any real batting support. Look at the SA...

    Consolation: Man of the Match.

Lara won the MAN OF THE SERIES in Sri Lanka despite WI losing 3-0 in 2001. He also picked up the MOM in the 3rd Test when he scored 221 and 130 in the same test but WI still lost.

    Target 400

i think vaughn can make an assault. the problem is that now, it's gonna take a long time to do it. let's say a player can score 60-70 a session, you're looking at 7 sessions. that's 2 days and a session.....think about someone coming in at 4 or 5.......it probably won't happen.

i think lara did the right thing. 400* did much more for C'bean cricket than 3-1 could. as for those who say he only went after it for personal glory and profits, does that not confirm the man's greatness, that he could actually set his sight on 400 and achieve it? not very many can do half of...

    World Cup 2007

by the way, i think St. Lucia is the only other ground besides the QPO in T&T that can host the final.
  17. R

    World Cup 2007

well the WICB has much more to gain by having 30,000 people for he final as compared to 18,000 or less.

    **Official** Bangladesh in West Indies

none at any major level. they will have problems.

    World Cup 2007

there shall be 4 groups. trinidad and tobago has submitted a bid that we would acquire any games not awarded to any other island. We however are going with the opening ceremony and the WI group. in addition to that we may get any others that cannot be hosted by the other islands. hopefully we...

    lara vs tendulkar

i think that Lara is the best for the mere fact that he has no one to fall back on. Australia and India are both powerful batting sides and cricket sides in general. WI is slightly better than Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.
