Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

ohhh yes ...just because he remained not out in 25 of 126 inns , then we can say that it was harder to dismiss.....For me it was just that as his str: rate of 47.52 suggests, he only took far lesser risk and hence ended up having such high number of not outs. My firm opinion is that had Imran...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

why not relevant ??????? you yourself is saying that a player has a better chance of getting 20-40 when compared to 0-20. This same logic applies to 50-100 & 100-200 too .Simple.But most batsmen gets out lot more in 50-100 range rather than in '100- 200 or more' range. If your logic is...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

then as per your logic a great batsman like Sachin should have more >100 scores when compared to 50-100 scores. But he got out 68 times in between 50-100 when compared to only 51 >100 scores...why??????? Not only with Sachin, almost every great batsmen has this same trend. Why?????????????

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

Would brief this with another example, that of Sachin-Lara. I consider Sachin as a better over all bataman of the 2. But I have no doubt in my mind that in building mammoth scores when every thing favours him, Lara was a level or 2 above Sachin in general.Based on this belief , I am filtering...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

A big no to it . For instance take that 129 vs SAF. 9th wkt fell when team score was 197. After that, 18 runs were scored of which last man scored a mere 2. That means baring a possible extra 1 or 2 runs Kapil scored almost 14 runs. Means if Kapil waited for the last man to have got out...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

take R.Jadeja..... he has 12 not outs in 53 inns. That is a whopping 22.64 % share that takes his avg: to 29.17. I am 100% sure, if Jadeja in any circumstances was allowed to continue with his not out scores till he gets out, his avg: will fall alarmingly because he has till now only...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

Tendulkar was cleared by ICC because of him simply removing dirt from the ball. And for your satisfaction , even if Sachin can be treated as quilty at the worst case, then we can reject all his bowling credentials. But you know Sachin will lose nothing from his credentials as a great batsman.

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

it is not delusion but a reality. Imran's avg:ed better, but it is boosted by huge percentage of notouts in far lesser inns(126: 184 in favour of Kapil). In his first 132 inns or so Kapil avg:ed almost 32.5 and put more or less same runs/inns as that of Imran. And Kapil's str: rate was almost 84...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

still baffles me as to how game loving fans who believe in ethics and fair play can treat the credentials of this chronic ball tamperor Imran as legitimate. I simply can't . Once I used to adore him madly in my teen days. Now it is just the opposite. He was by far the best exponent of this...

Why does Pakistan traditionally produce better fast bowlers than India?

don't think generally far more non veg eating habits have any thing to do with this. Indians generally take up more to batting than bowling because traditionally batting have always attracted young aspirants than bowling. In India role models have always been great batsmen. And in Pakistan...

    Kapil Dev vs Jimmy 5nderson

Kapil was a lot better than his end avg: reveals. In comparison with Anderson ,Kapil gets credit for lack of bowling support. But in both longevity & work density Anderson is slightly better.Against the best team of his era WI both home & abroad, Kapil raised his game to great levels.In...

An experiment: Rank these 18 all-rounders as batsmen and bowlers

Criteria for sorting : brilliance across formats, brilliance across countries, longevity, fair play, aggression in batting, team strength in both batting & bowling, work density. Batting list Gary Sobers Jacques Kallis Kapil Dev Ian Botham Shakib Al Hasan Aubrey Faulkner Imran Khan Keith Miller...

    The great 1980s all rounders

these are mere stats with out context. For instance Botham might have more such no:s vs weaker teams. But in WI how many? More over he didn't play in PAK the 2nd best team of his times. All counts.

    The great 1980s all rounders

my rating of FAB 4 80s all rounders in the order. 1. Kapil Dev : In test batting avg:ed almost as that of Botham with a murderous str: rate of almost 81 from those bowling friendly 80s. Has many aggressive back to the wall inns against high quality bowling attacks. And was the best of the...

    Tendulkar's head-to-head average against bowlers

what not Afridi getting out Sachin 3 times in tests as per the list. Can't get more incorrect than this.

    Tendulkar's head-to-head average against bowlers

Sachin might have avg:ed 33 from those inns vs AUS where Mcgrath too was an opponent bowler. This is not difficult to trace out from cricinfo site. But here some 'Charles' guy is seen having head-head record of Sachin vs each bowler. Almost unbelievable. To be frank can't believe it to be true.

    Tendulkar's head-to-head average against bowlers

yet... can't believe this to be precise data...even cricinfo started tracing head-head from 2000 onwards..then how could this be so accurate? what is the source?

    Tendulkar's head-to-head average against bowlers

Also prominent bowlers Ambrose,Wasim , Waqar & Hadlee against whom Sachin came on top in head-head battles are missing from the list

    Tendulkar's head-to-head average against bowlers

i wonder how such precise this data is. Even cricinfo site which is a well known source of getting several indepth stats started tracing head-head batsman-bowler record from 2000 onwards or so.

Top Ten ODI cricketers of All Time

they say stats with out context is meaningless. And this is exactly one such stat. Dhoni, as we all know is a great player based on his ODI credentials, not tests. But even in tests an avg; of 38+ is still good for a WK & a no: 6 batsman.. Now coming to one dayers where he is a great player...
