How very nice of you to write those kind words, Swaranjeet. I too treasure the opportunities I had to to meet and talk with some of those great players of yesteryear. As I mention in my Web pages, Swaranjeet, I had the rare opportunity to meet some of those players by virtue of being a...

My bat grip keeps slipping up!

I would rather take a beating than re-grip a bat! The only solution I have found for a "sliding up grip" is to latch on to a substantial amount of rubber at the shoulder -- rotating around the handle -- and really stretch/muscle it down as you go around -- then after the rubber is well stretched...

    Whats Your Cricket Bat

Well, the new bat seems to miss a lot more balls than the older one used to for some strange reason :) Actually the overall feel is about the same to me.

    Whats Your Cricket Bat

About 70 years apart -- 1930s & 2000s Gunn & Moore cricket bats A cousin of mine gave me his Autograph model Gunn & Moore bat when he went into the RAF in 1939. I have used Gunn & Moore bats ever since -- partly out of brand loyalty, mostly because of their long standing reputation of high...

How many forum members actually don't play cricket?

I have been a leg break bowler for 66 years although these days I bowl (daily at a single stump) mostly for practice and exercise. Although cricket is not much followed in the United States, we do have occasional (mostly five aside) informal matches in local parks here (double end stumps and...
