    Help

YES! It's in the rules somewhere. Basically, when you give a player a bowling/batting/fielding/WK net, a sports psychologist attends the session, and that's what gives you the secondary (conc/cons) training. You basically need 1 sports psych for EVERY primary net, so that you get as much...

Group C - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

Unfortunately, I don't think SL are going to make it out of this group. The Aussies will beat them fairly comfortably, then Gayle & Co. will finish the job.

    Help

You're getting there, but I think you're better off ditching most of your trainees and buying in some better ones. Someone said that you'd probably get another £50k next update -- I suggest you use it on buying 3 or 4 trainees, Competent/Mediocre or above, all with at least Feeble stamina...

    Help

Well, there you go. I reckon a MINIMUM trainee should be a 17yo mediocre/competent.

Friendlies take place on Sundays, i.e. the same day as cup matches. If someone's still in the cup (as most teams on here will), you'll see something like "Still in Cup" at the bottom right of their pavilion page...and you won't be able to challenge them. Once teams get knocked out of the cup...

    Help

Bugger. Please don't tell me that you've spent all your money building up your stadium! Actually, how's the new starter money structured nowadays? You used to get a lump sum, but I'm sure I heard something about it being staggered now. That would come in rather handy. Well, I suppose you're...

    Help

The latter. You should be able to pick up a 17yo Competent/Mediocre (as in, Comp batting/bowling and Mediocre conc/cons) for not a lot -- I've seen my youth pulls, at roughly that level, go for £20k or below. Don't bother with anyone who hasn't got at least Woeful stamina -- it'd take far too...

    Help

Ha! Yeah, what he says ^ ^ ^ ;) You know, I'm not sure that I've ever pulled a decent Lankan. Probably all one big conspiracy.

    Help

It's a pretty overwhelming game when you're just starting. What to do? Well, read the rules, if you haven't already. Then, the BT Beginners' Guide (Help...Beginners Guide) is absolutely essential. There's a good one here too. After reading the guides, join the "Newbie Questions" sledging...

    Flintoff's bizzare anti immigration rant

EXCELLENT post, Oitoitoi! I've had similar experiences and, without knowing anything about you except that post, I think I'm in a pretty similar boat. For once, I'm in complete agreement with Scaly, too. I've not got the time to collate my thoughts and write a proper email on the matters...

Actually, there's a point -- what do people round 'ere think about the positioning of FC as the premier BT competition? As a big fan of Test cricket over OD and T20, I love it -- indeed, I've always prioritised FC over the other comps. However, I'm sure others will disagree. I wonder whether BT...

It is -- FC gives way more prize money than OD, albeit with a different league structure. I was looking at this yesterday -- for a full list, see BT Help...Rules...Competitions.

    Team Rankings

Thanks to the sheer numbers involved, it's actually BT20 that seems to make the biggest difference. Here's a post I made on the England sledging board about it... Just had a look at the rankings and league placings for my FC league (FC.Eng.II.1): ENG WLD FC OD BT20...

Challenged, but I suspect all I've done is joined the queue! Sad to see you go -- good luck with the PhD! O'Leary's not far off the kind of player I'm after right now...but for a probable £8M and only M, I think I'll have to pass.

Well, I managed to lose, admittedly to a slightly better team, but on the back of an absolutely crucial toss. Still, I made it all the way to the penultimate session before I got my arse kicked down to FC.III. Will see what my ratings are like today -- doubt I'll improve on 214, and with next...

Okay, here goes! Vincent Hirst (66419) LF Bowler. He is a destructive player with superb leadership skills and exceptional experience. Age: 28 Years Old Battrick Rating: 41,353 Wages: £11,074 p/w Stamina: proficient Wicket Keeping: woeful Batting: woeful Concentration: feeble Bowling...

Right then folks, who's got an exciting match today? I've got a winner-stays up match against Eppleton CC, which is going badly. He won the toss, on a greentop with sun today and bowling conditions for the rest of the match. That's exactly what happened at the start of the season, when I got...

    Battrick

Well, he's a Proficient trainable player, albeit almost 19yo. On the downside, he's a spinner and that seems to be the cheapest bowling discipline. In seasons gone by, you might have got some mug to shell out £1M for him. Nowadays, I'd say £500k would be a very good price (for the seller).

Hammarby 153ao in my game, and I'm 17/1 in my reply. Should be a reasonably easy chase, and that's promotion settled. Back to OD.III, which I think is about my team's level. I'm pretty sure there'll be nothing riding on next week's game for any of the teams (relegation is already sorted). In...

Thinking about it a bit more, you could conceivably go higher than that if you keep single-netting his primaries to 22yo, even 23. Double-netting could help you end up with a beast, and may well be worth it, but it'd take about 4 seasons for his secondaries to catch up. I think. Today, in my...
