    *Official* Pakistan in Sri Lanka

T20 was a bit of slap-and-giggle, but I think it's fair to say that it's now come of age. Compare the last two world cups and you'll see what I mean -- it's gone from a thoughtless, meaningless game to one where every ball is important, the most effective bowlers never bowl the same ball twice...

Agreed. Also, aren't there are ranking points riding on it? Not that it matters too much, but I would so love to see SL being ranked as the top Test team in the world one day.

Six and out from Sanga -- was hoping he'd get a half-century to go with Warnapura's. 11 runs FTW now. I wish I was even able to watch some highlights. It's just not fair -- SL and Pak have over the last decade been two of the most exciting teams in world cricket, but they just don't seem to get...

Bloody hell, they're motoring towards 170 here. Looks like it'll be over in three days!

Four day Tests possible - ICC Chief

Initial response: BLOODY HELL, THAT'S MADNESS! Now I've mulled it over a while, I guess it would be possible, with some changes. Making things more bowler-friendly, DEFINITELY. Longer boundaries, perhaps abolishing the "outside the line of legstump" LBW law, etc. Umpires have got better, thanks...

Why do I get the feeling that this one ain't over yet?! (Hope I'm wrong though.)

Of course, the best solution would be for the top order to actually do some batting and give Angelo a proper rest...

    CW Battrick Cup (season 13)

No, I really didn't mean it like that. More as input to the debate. Why don't you post your orders and corresponding spells?

    CW Battrick Cup (season 13)

I set mine similarly, usually with max RR set to 4.5-5, and rarely see anyone bowling 10 overs in a row. Here's are my opening spells for today: Gibb 7-2-20-0 (orders 6-4-5) Baba 7-2-25-0 (6-4-5) Brooker 2-0-19-0 (6-4-5) Buckley 8-3-15-0 (7-5-5) John 7-1-24-0 (still going; orders 6-4-5)...

    CW Battrick Cup (season 13)

Yeah, that's fine. It won't start for a few more weeks -- I've not added it all up yet! It's usually been a group stage, with seeded groups of 3 or 4, then knockout. Depends how the numbers work out, but I'll be trying for something similar this season.

    CW Battrick Cup (season 13)

So, does anyone fancy running it this season? If nobody else does, I'll do it, but I don't have much time on my hands so it wouldn't be anywhere near the standard of the last few. Better that than not having one, I reckon. Either way, we'll definitely have one, so may as well start the...

    Battrick

My skill-trade trainee has popped, so he's up for sale... Robert Winters (2431509) Robert is a RH Batsman and RF Bowler. He is a destructive player with worthless leadership skills and woeful experience. Age: 18 Years Old Battrick Rating: 10,553 (+223) Wages: £1,681 p/w Stamina: competent...

Just like the old days! According to a mate (carpebiem), the Twitter feed reports that they're having problems connecting to the server. I blame the Swedes!

    CW Batstats Rankings

    Well, never mind the BT20 -- I managed better in Friday's OD match! Exceptional = 14 x 3 = 42 Masterful = 17 x 4 = 68 Mediocre = 5 x 4 = 20 Masterful = 17 x 3 = 51 Miraculous = 18 x 2 = 36 Respectable = 7 x 1 = 7 TOTAL 224 1. Asterix XI (287) 2. Boggles (244) 3...

    CW Batstats Rankings

Does BT20 count? If so, I made 220 on an accidental GFI against Newcastle Knights. Forgot about the time difference, logged in at 1am to set orders, and found to my horror that my default orders include GFI. Still lost though.

    Help!

Yeah, not bad :) I'd drop the fielding net now though, and concentrate on either his batting or WK. English Div IIIish teams at the moment regard something like Remarkable batting as their "decent" minimum, and most have the same level of WK. Now, with almost three seasons left of training...

    Semi Finals and Final Discussion

I pretty much agree with Migara and Lionheart... Udana was shocking at times, even with his magic slower ball -- honestly, how effective is it when it gets used four times an over? Before half the matches, I was reading the teamsheets praying that Kulasekera would be in there. I wondered what...

    Semi Finals and Final Discussion

I think his ranking is somewhat misleading -- keeps it fairly tight and is getting better, yes, but one of the best in the world? Nah. Still, I'd describe him more as a second-tier bowler than a passenger.
  19. Mahindinho

    so..

:laugh::laugh: That's exactly what I was telling my (non-cricketing) housemate last night, as well as explaining how Smith and Kallis are two of the world's smuggest-looking people. I mean, Smith even looks smug when he's lost!
  20. Mahindinho

    Battrick

If he's going to be in your 1st XI for a while, I'd seriously consider giving him a fielding net. At that age, his secondaries should pop pretty quickly, and he needs them to!
