You know what really grinds my cricketing gears?

Just like with Mumbai (not Chennai) 2004. Anyway, I have about as much evidence that the Darwin 2004 was deliberately "under-prepared" as anyone else does about Mumbai or Trinidad, which is just about zero. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of his rant - it grinds my gears when people try to make...

Burgey, forgot to mention the 1st Test vs Sri Lanka in Darwin 2004?

    Shaun Tait

How did he fail miserably? Did quite well in the ODIs, and performed poorly in one Test and average in another. Not a miserable failure by any means.

You know what really grinds my cricketing gears?

Yeah, agree with Richard regarding the point about "doctoring pitches". For one thing, the term implies cheating and that I don't agree with at all because both teams have to play on the same pitch. Also, I don't think sides pitches excessively favouring one side are produced much, if at all.

Watson wants to be test opener.

Haha, thought for a second there you meant Hussey should open with Symonds.

28.47, with a highest score of 67*. He's been pretty **** in the West Indies/Malaysia/UAE, but good in Zimbabwe/South Africa. Only played 19 out of 71 games outside the subcontinent though. His career summary.

Tbh it's not so much of a cynical undercurrent as it is a **** undercurrent (at times). Not that I have much of a problem with it generally, although I agree with this - "You'd have to be completely blind or oblivious to not see that going on here and really a 10 year old shouldn't be exposed to...

***Official** Sri Lanka v Pakistan in Abu Dhabi

    Kumble's much better than MacGill.

Dhoni's fast becoming one of the most under-rated batsmen around here.

Is spin bowling a dying art in modern day cricket?

Also, Rashid has played much less FC and OD cricket compared to Chawla. No comparison really.

Why the hypocrisy on Zimbabwe ?

Disregarding all the petty sniping, when will you realise that simply being from one country doesn't mean you represent the country? Whether Sanz is from India or not is irrelevant - he isn't representing India, in fact as he has stated, he's representing himself and only himself. If we do go by...

Why the hypocrisy on Zimbabwe ?

I'm not saying Sanz is right or wrong here, but you seem to have chosen a path to argue and are refusing to back away from that even though it's completely irrelevant. Sanz never said India's policy on Zimbabwe/China/whatever was right....he's just pointing out the hypocrisy in the Australian...

Why the hypocrisy on Zimbabwe ?

Tbh, I can't see how it's not hypocritical. Without making any judgement on whether they should boycott the tour or not, it's definitely inconsistent...not that most of the time foreign relations are consistent anyway.

    **Official** India in Bangladesh

Doubt it. We're getting WI vs England though.

Why is everyone so against 20/20?

Not liking Twenty20 doesn't necessarily mean preferring ODIs.

Should Cricketweb.net be a government instead of a dictatorship?

A government can be a dictatorship.

Why the hypocrisy on Zimbabwe ?

Irrelevant and a cheap shot. Sanz made no comment on India's China policy and that's not something that is being discussed in this thread. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I dare say he'd be just as disappointed in the hypocrisy present in the Indian govt as he is with the Aus govt.
