Can you beat for the cricket guru title?

Hanif Mohammad, Greg Blewett, Hashan Tillakaratne? Can't think of who is the last one atm.

    Criticising Tendulkar the in thing

There was another article on CricInfo critical of Tendulkar today. I don't have any objections with this one though - the difference in tone and the way the criticism is made in the article is much better and more professional than the other one discussed in this thread.

Good stuff from Tendulkar and Dravid. Tendulkar's 11th score in the 90s as well.

Australia's Festive Season Tests under threat

Broadcasting on TV makes much more money than anything you can get from stadium attendance. It really doesn't matter whether 1 person or 90,000 turn up, as long as enough people are watching on TV.

    Criticising Tendulkar the in thing

He hasn't been playing 'these types of innings' in Test matches, he's been batting above his career strike rate since his comeback.

Pretty sure Turb wasn't being entirely serious in that post.

    Cricket....er...what?

I meant, it hasn't been spoken for centuries as in it hasn't existed for centuries, the language is 'newer' than that. I'm well aware that many people speak Afrikaans, I thought that was common knowledge so I didn't bother to correct my wording.

You shouldn't mix up ODIs and Tests....Ganguly has been more defensive in ODIs since his comeback, but he's been as aggressive as usual in Tests.

Chopra was never 'gifting his wicket away', firstly he was undone by good bowling and secondly, I'm sure his form was affected by the question marks surrounding his presence in the team ahead of Yuvraj (when it was made clear that Ganguly preferred Yuvraj ahead of Chopra). I can't remember a...

    Criticising Tendulkar the in thing

Ha, I've already said everything I need to say about that article in the other thread. I'll just add that there's nothing brave about taking cheap shots. Criticism is fine, but much of that article was beyond that.

On Zaheer, how can he be overrated if he's not really rated in the first place? I don't think anyone thinks he'll ever be an all-time great or anything, just that he could be a solid bowler with the new ball.

I've found too many errors on HowStat. I usually use CricInfo for Test/ODI stats and CricketArchive for FC/List-A.

CricketArchive > CricInfo for stats tbh.

I have a lot of uni work coming up over the next few months and I don't think I'll be able to commit to writing for CW regularly, so I'm out for a while, at least until the Australian summer.
