Prasad and Mathews coming in place of Chandimal and Welegedera. Would have liked to see Eranga over Lakmal, but probably didn't want to bring in two new fast bowlers. cricinfo

I think Mathews would be a good choice as an opener in tests, but I would also like to give Thiramine one more test. Mathews vs Chandimal for the number 6 spot.

IIRC even a draw in the next test, results in SA going to #1.

As a SL fan I am more worried about Finn than Bresnan.

Herath, within 3 months knocked over the number 1 & 2 ranked teams.

Galle already had a warning from the last test against Australia:@

Another 3 day test at Galle? ICC not going to be happy again.

Day two starts at 12:30 am here. Deciding whether I should stay awake to watch at least the end of the SL innings, love watching the tail bat in tests. Also a couple of Mahela cover drives might be worth skipping the sleep.

Reminds me of Sehwag at Galle in 08.

Wouldn't mind Silva at Galle. He has been in good form and just did well against the England attack minus Anderson. Also considering that Chandimal hasn't kept in a while PJ might get selected ahead of him as well.

By definition if the game is played at the SSC it is a road.

I see nothing special about Lakmal regardless of the pitch tbh. He just sends the ball down 3 feet outside the off stump, and wastes the new ball. Wouldn't even mind three spinners at the expense of Fernando at Galle.

SL have a habit of losing lately, period. If Mathews is injured, I guess Silva has played himself into the first test with today's innings. Not the worse thing either, one of the better players of spin we have and a good move in case England pick both Swann and Monty. My XI Dilshan Thiriminne...
