    Australian Domestic Offseason 2011

Disappointing to lose Forest, but a good move for him and Queensland. Looks like Queensland have starting to move into 21st century and looking at other states to develop their team.

Don't mind the format. though they should have played the first half of the season under the normal rules for the World Cup hopefuls. Just not sure about the point of having 45 overs. May as well be 40 or 50. Also the whole 12 players per side is a tad lame. Would rather have a couple batsmen...

    40-over Format

I heard one of the ideas was to have have two separate innings of 20 overs. But each team will only have 10 wickets to use up both innings. So in the first innings you could lose 7 wickets. But then in the 2nd innings you send your openers out again and have 3 wickets to use in the final 20...

    Pollard chooses Somerset over WI

How important is a WA 'A' series for a player that has already played lots of ODIs. Fair enough if it was a 4-day squad. But seems a tad pointless to make him play a one day series when they know he already has already signed a contract to play somewhere else. I know in the past Sri Lanka over...

    ***Unofficial*** Ireland Discussion Thread

Didn't realise your a International Rugby League fan. Would make a joke of international cricket, if one day you play for one side and next week you play for another side and repeat that continiously. International players can play in domestic Bangladesh cricket and quite a few already do...

    ***Unofficial*** Ireland Discussion Thread

How about a 2nd tier where they only play one home series against a major side each year. With Ireland, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Afganistan. Reckon the Intercontential Cup has reached it max for Zimbabwe and Ireland as most of their top players play higher levels of FC cricket already. The same...

Devo about no Chandimal. Happy to see Hearth and Kandamby back. I was surprised when they missed the last couple series. Not sure why the went Kapugedera over Chandimal. No surprises with Perera and A Mendis missing out, was always on the cards.

I had a look at last year stats and apart from Hastings, I can't see another fit seamer who was that far ahead. Geeves maybe a tad unlucky.

The soccer - er, football - noob question thread

That what most people say around here, 'I'm going down the park to play AFL'. It is stupid but that is the common term.

The soccer - er, football - noob question thread

Was more commenting on Jono comment that people didn't call it VFL, but Aussie Rules. Always been called AFL or VFL in Sydney. Not many people I know call it Aussie Rules for some reason.

Fast forward 20 years... On a Sri Lankan front will be interesting to see who makes the squad after the Zimbabwe series. Will Samarawera and Jayasuriya get another chance? Where will Jayawardene bat? What seamers will make the squad? Will Murali be back? Hopefully they go for this squad: Dilshan Tharanga Jayawardene...

Why doesn't Yuri use this to get his knee re-done. I can't see him improve his fitness until he fixes up his knee. Not sure why you put off surgery for this long. He hasn't been the same player for mine since the injury first appeared. Poor management of his injury is a main reason for his fitness.

    *Official* England Squad Thread

For mine the 98 side had a lot of players that were either at the end of their peaks or just finding their feet at international level. The side didn't have that many players at their peak. The side looks very good on paper, but the balance between experience and inexperience wasn't there in 98...

    **Official** NRL 2010 thread

Exact same thing I thought. Not looking forward to another backrow having to play large parts of the game in the frontrow. We never learn always go over the top on the backrows and change the halves once someone has a below par game.

Reckon they are just testing Wade and giving him some experience. You would think Hartley next in line. But he has a few A tours already, so a good chance to give a new guy a chance. EDIT: Interesting Wade averages 40+ in FC cricket. Maybe he is 3rd in line with those numbers.
