    *Official* Australia in England

Perhaps I sound a little overeager, not saying we should drop everything and try rush Tait into the test side. Just that given the impact he's had when he has been in the team (admitedly only in LO cricket) over the past year or so and the fact we have an emerging all-rounder who could allow us...

    *Official* Australia in England

It would be a fair gamble, but I think it could potentially add another dimension to the attack without notably weakening the batting, and the noises I've been hearing from Ponting/Nielsen lately, both on Tait and Smith suggest to me it's not completely out of the question. I know Smith still...

    *Official* Australia in England

Hypothetically, if he were to get himself reasonably fit (big if), I could see Tait having an impact in the Ashes...you couldn't play him as part of a four man attack though, especially if Hauritz or Smith are there too. Becuase then they'll effectively be left with two bowlers half the time...

I really don't see the point in peserevering with McKay to be honest, I know his ODI figures so far demand that he be given at least a couple more games before he's discarded, but I just don't see him doing any sort of job at this level long term. Even at his best he's going to be a decidedly...

McKay played a couple of games last year in India....but hopefully he's no longer part of our lineup come game 3.

I agree, looked a class above every other batsman in that test. I was amazed when he got out..

    Immortal Knocks <100

I recall Steve Waugh playing an awesome knock for 60 or 70 odd against Kumble in Dehli in 1996 when everyone else crumbled, cbf looking up the exact details. Also credit to Michael Slater's effort in the first innings at Edgebaston in 2001, really set the tone for the whole series. Wasn't...

    **Official** NRL 2010 thread

Both, plus Melbourne appear to have gone to far greater lengths to keep things quiet in this case. Although off the top of my head the Bulldogs breached it pretty badly in 2002 as well, I can't remember the exact figure or time frame but it was systemic breaches in that case too.

He's an off spinner, good (but not really outstanding) Canberra grade cricketer, be interesting to see how he develops if he gets a chance in SA.

    England Since 1990 XI

They probably would've all been dropped early in their career's after short periods of indifferent form, been recalled and discarded again countless times thereafter and finished up with career records pretty similar to Graeme Hick's

    England Since 1990 XI

Steve Waugh after 1990 - 9038 runs @ 53....Comfortably superior to every batsman you have named there bar Ponting (and even then...Ponting didn't really come good until things generally began to tilt in favour of bowlers in the 00's)

    Akthar or Thomson?

Never saw Thommo so it's a difficult comparison. But when Akthar was really on then he had alot more going for him than just pace, he had deceptively good control and an ability to move the ball around seemingly at will, the pace was just the icing on the cake. Only problem was the stamina, he...

Pick Tom Thornton!!...500+ runs at 50 in futures league opening the batting, and he's only 20... Admitedly hasn't been great in Adelaide grade cricket this year though

PCB handed match fixing evidence by ICC

I thought a couple of incident's during the tour were suspicious actually and said as much at the time, none more so than the finish to that one off 20/20 game...Pakistan seriously looked like they had that in the bag for all money and then out of nowhere they just threw it away with a couple of...

    *Official* Australia in New Zealand

Final test of Bond's debut series...four hundreds in New Zealand's first innings (one of them Loue Vincent ffs), plus Warne managed his 99...bit of a road to say the least. Aaaand in his 10 matches v SE Bond Ponting averages a mediocre (although hardly shambolic) 28...with one century.
