    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Well that's kinda rescued things a bit. Could've been a bit better if not for England's cheating slow over rates.

    Serious goosebumps with that one.

Good little innings this from Santner. You can tell he's **** scared of the short stuff but has played it intelligently for the most part.

England definitely didn't play well in the first session. Way too many half volleys and a couple dropped chances. That and the openers batted well. Since lunch England have tightened up and NZ crumbled.

Apparently the average first innings score since 2017 is 340 which feels about right.

Nah that was 2-0, middle test was rained out.

When was the last time NZ lost a home series 3-0? Has it happened since Waugh's Australians toured here in 2000?

Yeah, way too many freebies from England. Also surprised we haven't seen Stokes try to aim a few more inswingers at Young's front pad. Jeez if Young can push on and make a hundred here we might never see Conway play another test.

    0 wickets certainly helps.

Tend to think he's just more annoying and therefore noticeable

Latham looking in one of his "imperious for 40-80 runs before spontaneously combusting" moods.

Do I think there were times in Southee's career where he got complacent and deserved a kick up the bum? Yes. But I really don't think it's been a problem since 2016 at the latest. His record from late 2016 - early 2022 was 161 @23. This final phase of his career I don't see as motivation thing...

If I see any more of these "Southee is a lazy bum and always has been" posts I'm gonna start rooting for him again. Ffs, I know we're all frustrated and he should've been dropped after last year's Australia series, but that doesn't change the fact that he's been one of our greatest ever.

I can see the headline now: "Cricket fans baffled as New Zealand coach suddenly resigns after Trump 2028 election victory"

Wasn't Andre briefly a part of the NZ coaching set-up earlier this year? It's - er - interesting that they decided to move on from him almost immediately for Jacob Oram.

Yeah, I'd prefer someone like Malan to Gillespie. Knows the system. Knows a lot of the players. Knows what it takes to win in New Zealand. But now also has some experience of working in an international environment. Admittedly his results with Ireland are distinctly mixed, but I imagine a lot of...
