Not really... if Nicholls can stay this long and so can other players Young will also get a good run and no doubt he will have a long fruitful career. My heart broke when he got out. It's the worst feeling when you're making a comeback and you get out for nothing in a test match.

That was a great day... Don't know why we didn't apply ourselves like this. Playing reverse sweeps for the sake of it, not playing the line of the ball, trusting the defence etc... Decided I was not going to message here during the game to see if that works. Looks like it did so far :)

Yeah been watching that as well, he's in the mood. One year ago that would have been scoffed at but more it's the state of the art batting.

Let's hope we'll go well in the second dig. The lead is not massive. Good opportunity to turn things around. Stanger things have happened in cricket. There's lot of time left in the Test match still. If we bat well we can still set it up.

While at it our one day and t20 sides also require reset and refresh. Similar policies of picking players just because they've turned 30 has been rampant. We'll have a shocker of a tourney later this year in India if something is not done now. It'll be too late otherwise. We are so far behind...

It was pouring all night but today's forecast is very good. Not sure if the game will start on time though, the outfield must be wet.

In the South Africa series last year, a question was asked to Brendan and Fleming about the make up of the side. They both said they'd have played Ravindra ahead of CDG and Ajaz Patel in the side as their main spinner. That too when the deck was green and CDG was in great touch because they knew...

Something has been bothering Kane. Not sure why he's lost so much confidence, he's still one of the very best. As a matter of fact his dad is in town as well, his old man is a visionary. He pretty much taught him to score of good balls. Now Kane bats to survive and like everything in the world...

Abbas is gone but firebirds can definitely work with this kid. Robinson and Abbas can fill in the spots of Allen and Rachin/ Bracewell. So glad firebirds have continued to bank on youth. There's Greenwood and also Severin. They're very positive players too. Although results may not show but I...

It started right after that i think. He got smashed against India A from memory. Him and Walker were smashed around.

Marty Kain has moved to USA I think. He's working towards a cricketing career in USA. Could even feature in major cricket league.

Watch some of the sixes and fours off Rippon. He's either whacking his own feet or bowing full tosses

For sure the kid is a gun player vs spin from what I know but Rippon is struggling but don't think we have anyone in the setup to help him

It's astonishing the management didn't know Rippon's bowling state. That's unbelievable. Surely you'd think they'd check or know what's going on with him prior selecting

Rippon is bowling so much junk, poor fella is having yips for a while and nothing is been done. Black caps picked him for the India tour when he was having bowling yips and promptly didn't play him at all. Great timing black caps.

So it's true we suck. Didn't want to believe it. I thought it could be selections, luck etc but looks like we really suck. With the bat and ball so it's hard to change it around.

Finn Allen out early. Was hoping for some entertainment from him. Not to be. Liking the looks of abbas, I was told he's a very good player of spin and I can see why. Has a good balance stance, looks to score of every ball. Definitely a good addition to firebirds. Glad to see lot of potential...

I guess he is so tidy sometimes can get carry away. There were no slogs, lots of good shots. It's a tough one to balance I suppose when you're hitting the ball very well. It's such small margins, if he connected that one properly and sailed over he would have demoralized the bowling attack...
