I still feel if we bowl a bit today we can make a game out of this. We are in with a chance I feel

Things have gone right today so I'm back posting. I'm perplexed why bracewell didn't want to go after the bowling. We're supposed to win here aren't we to catch up? When things go wrong for a batsman it goes really bad. All Bracewell's dismissals this series have been soft as. Feel a bit sorry...

Watched a bit this morning rachin was taking his time and muller was bowling really well. Tight lines and length. Looks like he had to work really hard the first hour. At lunch he was 50 and checked like half an hour or so later he was either on hundred or nearing. I quite like how he can change...

That jeet raval dismissal is quite dodgy. Looks like he wasn't ready to face the ball, rather than move away he fended at it lay minute and nabbed in slips

I think Young also went to UK to play club cricket meanwhile Nicholls stayed back to train at the academy at Christchurch and impressed the powers be. Rest is history at they say.

Finn Allen is off the park since yesterday. Saw Younghusband fielding all day yesterday.

14 wickets for Todd Astle and 7 for Ajaz. Where are those decks gone?

I think it could be because he is a left armer. Usually left arm bowlers do get looked at seriously as compared to right hand spinners.

Another interesting stat.. these were the stats of each player in first-class just before they made their test debuts. Of the lot, Rachin had the most appearances for NZ A followed by Phillips. I do feel Will Young could have been played way earlier. Not sure why that didn't happen but we...

I think so too but Firebirds are scrambling for openers since Woodcock and Papps moved on. I can count like a dozen openers have been tried and Rachin is the only successful one still around. That could be the case for all sides but for Otago where Rutherford opens. Even Rutherford gave up...

For the sake or Phillips and Ravindra they're better off holding back although that is not in their hands. These guys will ruin them in no time. They are good positive players and with this management they will turn them into another Will Young. Best to be done with this management, maximum they...

Definitely straight swap for Nicholls at this stage. I'm still scratching my head over this. We were the ones behind prior this test match and needed to take 20 wickets. We went for 4 bowlers if you consider Bracewell as a full time bowler. I'd have thought we would go with 4 fast bowlers and...

This is Ben Sears stats in Plunkett shield. He's taking poles at 22. His strike rate is 57 which is quite good. He's consistent against Black Caps batters, picking up wickets at an average of 23, strike rate of 57. I know the sample rate is quite less but it is still impressive bowling...

Yeah that was a stand out shot. I suppose playing mostly in Auckland makes you a better player of spin perhaps. There are lot more sub continent players coming out of Auckland meaning you get to face lot more spinners in Auckland growing up. Ish, Netula, Ronnie Hira and Ajaz are also from...

I have a feeling he didn't get out to Ashwin, Axar and Jadeja in India but got out to Yadav who came in for a series and didn't play again for India.... That is very unreal. How can a player not get out to these guys and get out to the lesser bowler even at international cricket? Crazy stuff. I...

I saw him bat in the practice game and he looked out of sorts. Couple of catches went down and then was out to Leach trying to hit him over the top. I suppose this test match came at a wrong time to him. Generally he's on top of the game so this test match should be taken with a grain of salt...

Got a chance to look at Ravindra's stats in PS and I think my gut feel was right. He doesn't get out to black caps quality players, he scores against them. He gets out to the least of the bowlers from the opponents. Somebody probably needs to teach him to be a bit more attentive against lesser...

I'm not sure what you are meaning but I'm saying you can't drop him after one bad test. He has to be given a reasonable run. At least 3 series. Not just having in the squad but should be playing all 6 test matches. If he can't pull off good knocks then you move to the next guy.

100% doesn't matter at whose cost otherwise he'll be gone. A new regime may come in and opt for youngsters. Young is neither a youngster nor a seasoned international player as yet. It's precarious.

You see when you stay positive forever you are bound to have good days even if it looks bleak  If we can get a lead of 150 runs you never know what may happen. Strange things do happen fairly regularly. I see Aussie woman took 5 wicktets in 6 balls today for 1 run when the opponent...
