First/Group Round - Group B - Scotland, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Hong Kong

Nice bowling there. Totally predicted that charge.

***Official: Australia in South Africa 2016 T20I Series***

Not a huge Finch fan but really don't think he can be left out of the t20 team. Among all players with 500+ international t20 runs he's second in average and second in scoring rate. His form is also fine. He's definitely done more to be worth that spot than Khawaja IMO. Also a superior fielder.

First/Group Round - Group A - Bangladesh, Netherlands, Ireland, Oman

Yeah. I didn't really mean it was inexplicable so much as a really stark difference. You're right though, there's even a test bias with some of their players to a degree, though obviously they're clearly best at ODIs. But someone like Monimul Haque who has a great test record so far and seems to...

First/Group Round - Group A - Bangladesh, Netherlands, Ireland, Oman

It really is pretty crazy how bad Bangladesh seem to be at t20 compared to ODI cricket. Feels like all their best newer players are better suited to longer forms of the game. Not at all what I'd have imagined would have happened 10 years ago.

Starc, chameera, amir, rabada or Joseph

Yeah Johnson wasn't injury prone like Shane Bond or anything. More comparable to someone like Brett Lee. He had some stress fracture issues when he was young like most quicks, but he took 600ish international wickets despite not always being a guaranteed selection for his team. He had his fair...

Starc, chameera, amir, rabada or Joseph

You really don't think this action is fluid? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tksy7Y4nE4U I think how relaxed an action looks is a pretty poor indicator of propensity for injury, but it's an amazingly smooth action for someone with his pace. Lee, Akhtar, Johnson etc had much jerkier actions...

Man that was close to a dot ball.

Pretty crap pair of throws there.

Will be the biggest partnership ever in international t20 if they complete the chase.

Definitely like Warner at 4 a lot more than the other options. Hope they stick with it through to the world t20.

Andre Russell cleared to play T20 despite missing doping tests

ICC is a comically bad organising body honestly. For all the crap FIFA gets for instance, at least they generally have reasonable tournament formats, schedule teams to play each other at frequent, predictable intervals, don't absurdly favour some countries over others, all of which the ICC fails...

Haha wow. Ridiculous catch. Would have been a sitter if he was positioned a bit better too.

***Official: Australia in South Africa 2016 T20I Series***

Would expect so. Main questions about the team are which batsmen bat in the middle order, and the spinner. Not totally convinced about Hazlewood either but with Starc injured I think he's probably a certain selection as well, which means most of the team picks itself. NCN might be better but I...

    Pretty good from Faulkner.

Starc, chameera, amir, rabada or Joseph

Starc was terrific in the Perth test against NZ as well, even though he didn't get a lot of wickets. I tend to think most exceptional new ball bowlers in ODIs end up being good in tests eventually, and he will too as his consistency improves. Lot of potential variance with fitness etc though.

    So many great games lately.

    Australian Squad Discussion

Warner would be the most qualified of that list of top order specialists (Watson, Finch, Smith, Khawaja, Warner) to bat down the order imo. Makes sense, and can't see a better option.

    Australian test selection thread 2015/16

The question of Maxwell at 6 might depend on the rest of the bowling balance as well. If they're going to pick both O'Keefe and Lyon, you'd want Marsh in there I think. But if they're only picking one spinner I don't think it'd be a bad selection honestly. And if Hazlewood, Starc and Pattinson...
