*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Don't understand why anyone is calling for Mo to be dropped. Sure his batting is not what it was, but he bowled really well at Headingley on a pitch offering nothing to the spinners and took two vital wickets. Contrast with Murphy who clearly didn't have the confidence of his captain and...

*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

Aren't you Aussie posters who keep telling us Marcus Harris is hopeless the same Aussie posters who told us Mitch Marsh was hopeless? I just don't know what to believe any more.

Can England afford to keep faith with Bairstow? He looked awful with both bat and gloves in this match.

*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

Although I think it's a slightly odd selection given his recent form, I do have some time for Dan Lawrence and I hope he does well if picked. Though I don't know what Sam Hain has to do to get a game.

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

Surely we have to consider Dawson? Our long tail was a major factor in losing at Lords.

    Best cricket sixs

The second one of these is pretty impressive even by Gayle's standards. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7YeSjzCBpsY

Predict the year we’ll see the implementation of AI umpiring

BASED UMPIREZ LOL When they do make robot umpires I hope they have the option to emulate Billy Bowden's crooked finger or Dickie Bird's crouch.

I see Olly Stone managed to deliver three balls in a T20 the other night before limping off.

Walking is usually seen as the individual's choice though. Gilchrist was unusual in that he chose to do it, I don't remember any other members of his side following suit.

Does the law about intimidatory bowling need to change?

England and Australia have spent the last four days hurling bouncers at each other. England repeatedly bounced Nathan Lyon when he could barely stand. Jimmy Anderson was lucky to leave the crease today with nothing worse a few bruises. The umpires did nothing, presumably because according to the...

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

Incidentally although it was later recorded as a stumping the Bairstow dismissal was initially referred to the third umpire as a run out. Did he say "No it's not a run out but technically it's actually a stumping" or was that a later correction?

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

Does marking the crease mean anything in terms of whether you can be stumped or run out, or whether the ball is dead? It's a bit like kids shouting "In!"

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

I don't think anyone thought it was a boundary. From memory they ran two or three from the last ball before tea, Bell tapped his bat in and walked off towards the pavilion, and one of the Indian players took the bails off. So yes it was a run out rather than a stumping but essentially the same...

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

How does the Bairstow dismissal differ from the one where India ran out Ian Bell as he walked off for tea? They withdrew that appeal.

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

Yeah if Robinson and Broad hadn't thrown their wickets away England could've made that a lot harder for the Aussies at the end. But I give Broad a pass for sticking it out so long.

An actually good keeper would have left it for first slip.

Tongue's first over was poor but I think he's bowled OK after that. Warner could easily have been out to the Chinese cut, and the pull that went for six could've gone anywhere.

    English Domestic Season 2023

Surrey bowled out for 84. Hmmm.

*Official* Yorkshire CCC racism crisis thread

I was at secondary school in the UK back in the 1980s. There was no cricket in PE and the school team played a total of precisely two matches in the five years I was at the school. I was lucky that our village had a side that was welcoming to juniors. Fast forward to the 2010s and my eldest was...

Wondering what more Liam Dawson has to do to get picked. I was never much of a fan but he's on fire with bat and ball atm.
