    English Domestic Season 2023

Ha, that's the most village dismissal I've seen for a while.

    Ian Salisbury

I think he did live up to his potential, he just didn't have that much potential.

    English Domestic Season 2023

Northants in the process of throwing away a vital toss advantage here. Four wickets falling to balls that all could have been left alone so far.

The South African contingent not playing in SA

Ricardo Vasconcelos has dual South African and Portugese nationality and grew up in SA, but is qualifying as an England player. Was Brydon Carse another former Saffer? I guess Kyle Abbott will never play for his country again, which is a shame.

    *Official* Blast 2023

If he's captain, surely it's his own choice where to bat and whether to bowl himself?

*Official* First Test (Edgbaston, Birmingham) 16–20 June

Much as I'd hate to see this washed out tomorrow, a draw would set the series up beautifully.

Ollie Robinson may be a 78mph trundler but apparently he was more than quick enough to bounce out the Aussie tail.

Robinson can hold a bat, should've batted above Broad IMO.

*Official* First Test (Edgbaston, Birmingham) 16–20 June

Why is Broad batting ahead of Robinson?

*Official* First Test (Edgbaston, Birmingham) 16–20 June

Unpopular opinion maybe but I think Lyon's been by far the best bowler today.

Bit concerned that England are going to go hard at everything and make 350 at a run a ball when it's really a 500 pitch.

Agreed, three wickets in the session having lost the toss on a flat deck is definitely an Aus victory.

Why would you have only two slips and bowl straight to Duckett? His weakness is that he can't resist having a flash outside off stump.

Have Aus named their bloody team already? I'm dying to know which better bowler they've left out in place of Starc.

Would have liked to see Foakes for Crawley (somehow) and Wood for Broad, but still think it's a decent team. Stokes is a far better captain of spinners than Root was so I expect Mo to do OK.

Well I never. You learn something every day.

    English Domestic Season 2023

Yes no doubt that he was out, I'm just puzzled as to why it was given as obstructing the field and not handled ball.

    English Domestic Season 2023

That wasn't what happened here. It looks like he used his hand to stop the ball bouncing onto his own stumps. Can't link directly to the video but it's here: https://live.nvplay.com/ecb/#vd4ef1c0f-46fc-48c8-8238-d386f422718a

    English Domestic Season 2023

Louis Kimber given out obstructing the field for Leics. Pretty sure that's the first time I've ever seen that mode of dismissal in any form of cricket. But why obstructing the field and not handled ball?
