As it stands right now the only non-Smith Australian batsmen with averages over 30 for the series are at the crease. Only just there for Handscomb too. Renshaw has the second most runs for the team and that's 232 @ 29. India have Rahul and Pujara who have both had excellent series, and that's...

One over too many from Kumar. Mind you, nice comeback there. But some rubbish before that.

Can't remember watching too many tests against India where you were looking forward to the seamers getting tired so their spells would end. In the second innings too.

    Jarred back apparently.

Not great batting from Renshaw there. Umesh has been excellent though.

    Damn, that hurts.

Whatever happens it's been a fitting end to a terrific series, to go into the third innings with the game still close. Whoever wins from here will thoroughly deserve it. Even had a completely different surface every test, while they all had an Indian sort of character to them, it's been great.

Yeah I agree with all that. If India were chasing 200 and lost I wouldn't be incredibly shocked or anything, but I'd back India to make 200. Somewhere around 240-250 would be the break even point I think.

I don't feel like the pitch has really significantly deterioriated. So I think India have a good chance all the way up to a 300ish chase. Obviously you could defend a lot less than that but I don't think it's at Pune/Bangalore levels in terms of chasing difficulty yet. Helps that it will...

You clearly have a different understanding of what "shellacking" means than I do.

Shellacked...? I feel like every time you post you're watching a different game to everyone else. India have a first innings lead and an early wicket with the new ball. At the absolute worst it's an even match.

    Nice ball first up...

Nice new ball bowling there, you have to play at that and it was moving away etc. Can't say too much.

I know right. Just because he bowled well and took wickets.

Damn. I'm not that worried about the Renshaw drop earlier but that was a sitter.

Honestly think having these two bat for 5 overs against the spinners with the new ball available was a bit dumb. I guess you can't be too critical though since Lyon got one after the new ball could have been taken, so who knows what would have happened.

Should definitely take the new ball here.

Going to want 3 overs each from Haze and Cummins, surely. So that means two more from the spinners at most.

Great call from Smith not to take the new ball, must be said. 16.1 overs, 34-4 for Lyon's spell. Amazing.

Outside the line I think, or umpire's call on line.
