Not sure why Smith would have used Maxwell today to be honest. Maybe for an over or two but with Lyon bowling well the other end had to be kept quiet.

Attack is the best option here. Just skip down and spank the ugly ****. Then wait for him to compensate, rock back and spank him again. Make them take the new ball and then play slow.

Test cricket is so easy, wish I was out there atm.

Honestly think having these two bat for 5 overs against the spinners with the new ball available was a bit dumb. I guess you can't be too critical though since Lyon got one after the new ball could have been taken, so who knows what would have happened.

We haven't even seen him bowl to understand whether or not he could keep it tight at one end.
