*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

O'Rourke hasn't bowled an over which seemly slightly surprising.

Tufnell took much tougher ones than those.

    Mundane sightings of high-profile cricketers

I remember seeing Bowden at the old Left Field waterfront nightclub circa 2000. Had an absolutely stunning blonde on his arm. When I was about 11 or 12 I spotted Matthew Maynard at a Shell Cup game at Blake Park reading the newspaper. I approached him for an autograph. He declined saying he was...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Heaphy seems like someone CD have invested a lot in and it's starting to pay dividends. IIRC he did well in Plunket Shield last year. Seems like a fairly orthodox player but watching his boundaries a number come from switch hits.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

I saw him in one of the bakeries he had invested in Lower Hutt in 2004 with his arm in a sling from Hadlee-Chappell (he'd gone out to bat one handed). Had a brief chat to him. They made excellent pies.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

I remember seeing Grant Elliott paying for a carpark on Lambton Quay around 2011 when he was out of favour with the national side. I wanted to tell him how great his hundred at the SCG had been and he would hopefully get another shot.

The ball before his dismissal I was thinking if Latham brought up a century it would be up there with any of Kane's centuries in terms of importance.

Yeah, he's had a chronic elbow problem for several years.

Yeah, when I read that Santner was in for Henry my heart sank. Still can't quite believe what happened. Also, Latham as captain for this series didn't seem a particularly inspiring choice but his legacy has been transformed.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Mike Schlanders breaking through for Auckland after Kippax predicted his rise years ago. He put in a number of good performances for the A side last season too. http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/threads/official-new-zealand-domestic-season-2019-20.81032/post-4342052

Yeah, Doull had some great moments when he wasn't injured. That seven wicket bag against India at the Basin and man of the match when the Black Caps won their first test in South Africa stand out.

He had one first class five wicket haul before this taking 5/51.

Just saw the scorecard! If Henry had been fit I wonder if Santner would even be playing this game.

Would Shane Warne have been an ATG Test Captain?

I think the players would love him. He'd have had strong support from people like Ponting, Symonds, McGrath and Hayden. He probably wouldn't have been on the same wavelength as Buchanan the coach though. In terms of the majority of the bowling being pace are there instances of spin bowling...

Would Shane Warne have been an ATG Test Captain?

Craig McMillan played a season under Warne in County Cricket and rated him the best captain he played under. And McMillan played under the highly rated Stephen Fleming for 10 years.
