*Official* 2024 South Africa tour of New Zealand: 2 tests

Conway should be 'dropped'. And invited back in with open arms after he gets his MOJO back. Probably after an off-season (lol, like he'll get one of those). Will Young will be opening by the 2nd test of the Aussie series, after having been 12th man for the previous 6 weeks playing zero cricket...

That wagon wheel, with video of the boundaries embedded, Is really cool! Good addition to broadcasting tech. Not just a gimmick.

If I challenged Rachin to hit a cricket ball into the grand canyon. He would smash it at a cactus, wait!, no run. Hit a gap, man! Meeeeeeow.

The more pertinent point surely is that he actually debuted at Kanpur.

I bet Jake Gibson wouldn't expect to be mentioned in a Proteas v Blackcaps thread. But .... Why has he changed his name to de Swardt and pretending to be a South African?

Yeah. But seems darker green but duller colour (hence probably drier) than the usual seamy road. Maybe it's just my eyes getting used to the first nz test pitch of the season.

That's a 'special' 2 wicket bag for Qais.

Who is the best batsman from your country with a Test Batting Average of under 40 ?

I'm surprised even a Sri Lankan has not mentioned Gurusinha. Worldwide. The ones that come to my mind are Stewart, Atherton and Gurusinha. And dare I say it, Cronje, he was looking good mode back in 1994ish.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I don't think Foulkes has ever taken the new ball yet for Canterbury in red ball. In fact. I'd wonder if yesterday was even the first he's opened in ListA.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Got to temper it a bit that I think a few Foulkes LBWs to the RHBs would suffer from DRS reviews, once that is put under the spotlight at the higher level. But, he's also got a fair few bowleds. Not doubting his effectiveness to LHBs though. Would expect that effectiveness to transfer to test...

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

While I'm looking at the List A records. O'Rourke's 6/20 today is the second best ever List A bowling performance for Canterbury (beaten by Ryan McCone's 6/19 eleven years ago) And the 8th best ever for any NZ province.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

The previous best record overall for an NZ provincial team was: Yasir Arafat for Otago in 2009/10. With a 110*

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

BTW. Brett Hampton's 88* yesterday was also a record for the same position - Northern District's new best score for a number 8.
