***Official*** Australia in South Africa 2013/14

I reckon Doolan will be in with Marsh as reserve. Personally would have preferred Hughes over Marsh or if a stop gap was needed (to give Hughes etc 1-2 years in the shield) Voges or North. Pretty happy with the rest of the squad though and it's largely what was expected. I was interested in...

Will Chanderapul be considered an all time great?

Chanders is definitely an ATG in my books but the sheer brilliance of other WI middle order bats means he's unable to break into the WI ATG team. Among current batsmen (weighting towards recent form) I'd rate him below only Amla and Clarke.

Who will play their last test during the Australian Ashes series?

For Australia I think Bailey or Rogers (less likely IMO) could be a shout specially if we go 3 up at Perth. Failures by both could lead to experiments for the 4th or more likely 5th Test. Personally would like to see the end of Watson although I don't see it happening given that he's been kept...

    Your Test Team in 2018

Doubt things will turn out this way but I'll go with: Warner Silk Hughes Lynn Smith* Burns Peirson+ Starc Pattinson McDermott Lyon

    *Official* Warm up Matches Discussion

Could just be with Cutting and Sayers being rested or w/e QLD and SA requested them back or CA offered Richardson and McDermott for Cutting and Sayers being rested for a potential Perth call up.

*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Aye. Harris is the key to the attack. Pretty sure he's taken at least one wicket with every new ball since his return to the side. I'm pretty sure that Pattinson and Bird won't be available until Perth. If they are available for Adelaide chances are they won't get any Shield games beforehand so...

How many runs will Alastair Cook score in the 2013/14 Ashes?

7 before being felled by a Mitchell Johnson delivery which forces him out of the rest of the series.

Australia's test side for the Ashes in Australia

Maddinson Finch Doolan Hughes Bailey c Henriques Wade + Agar Hilfy Haze The Chad Silk could be subbed in for one of the openers depending on his form. Hughes could potentially take any position in the team depending on how other batsmen have gone in the shield (and depending on where they bat...

***Official*** Australia in India 2013 Short formats

Hazlewood definitely being kept for the Ashes IMO. With Cummins and Starc injured, Bird and Pattinson returning from injury and Harris's likelihood of injury a good start to the season could get him there (WACA Test would potentially be a good opportunity to debut him if he warrants it). He was...

Who was the biggest match-winner in the great Australian side?

McGrath for me. All the others had pretty good replacements if they ever got injured except for Gilchrist who was a luxury to have.

Kyle Jarvis quits Zimbabwe to sign multi-million dollar deal with GWS Giants

Disappointing. Reckon he could have been one of Zimbabwe's best fast bowlers (not that that's saying much). Can't blame him though given the pay, instability etc from playing for Zimbabwe vs County cricket.

Australia's test side for the Ashes in Australia

This IMO is what I would run with. Perhaps Watson also being replaced by another form batsmen at 6 (Doolan, Burns, Maddinson etc).

A regular Michael Slater is Maddinson.

*Official* Third Test at Old Trafford

Absolutely dire. Didn't look like he hit it live or on any replay.

Australia A tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe

I don't think Maxwell is a bad choice for the A squad tbh but he's a number 6 atm. For a B squad I'd go with Silk Cosgrove Klinger or Ferguson Bailey Burns or Voges Handscomb or an Allrounder Neville While far from a great line up I'd say its probably better than the current A squad batting wise.

Australia A tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe

Things going along as expected it seems. At least its not a Roady McRoad like last game.

Australia A tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe

The selection of the batting line up is terrible but I don't mind Cummins selection. It's a good opportunity to work him back into long form cricket and he's already had a big break since the Zimbabwe game. If he can't survive this workload then he's no chance of lasting a shield season.

Importance of good pitches for cricket development

I personally think that pitches most impact with the transition between First Class and Test Cricket. Countries which have a good variation of pitches tend to produce cricketers better able to step up to Test level while those which don't tend to have players who struggle initially at the very...

*Official* Third Test at Old Trafford

You could say the same about Hughes and Warner though and at least with them you know that if they get in they have the ability to go long. As it stands a significant portion of our batting line up prefers to face the new ball and Watson's constant starts ultimately end up wasting the conditions...
