*Official* England in India 2023/24 #CryMoreTour

Say what you want about IPL and it's negative impact on international cricket, I'd say that it has collaterally given us a bowler like Bumrah. We're very lucky to have him!

Height vs pace: which is more important for pace bowler success?

Marshall was 5 feet 8 inches actually. My relative met him at Kanpur test in 1983 and he was described as short but solid built without being too muscular.

Height vs pace: which is more important for pace bowler success?

You can achieve that in EA cricket though.

Was this player fundamentally ignored because of pace?

Is it true that English cricket in the 90s was very county-centric and international games were not treated equally important?

    Peak Bumrah vs Peak Cummins

He's a bit like bowling version of Lara, has those kind of days where he could get Root out a dozen of times and then goes cold bowling harmless spells. Cummins rarely bowls freak spells but doesn't go cold like Bumrah.

    Peak Bumrah vs Peak Cummins

Both awesome bowlers, however who would you think is possibly harder to face? Cummins at his metronomic best from Ashes 2019 or Bumrah bowling those freak spells in West Indies? Subjective opinions are welcomed as well!

    Imran Khan vs Allan Donald

Lara in 99 and early 2000s was peak stuff but even those performances pale in comparison with Gooch's batsmanship in the early 90s. Hardest batting conditions ever.

    Imran Khan vs Allan Donald

If we prioritize memorable performances only, then Gooch > Lara and Tendulkar. Both Lara and Tendulkar have played few great innings against great bowling attacks, but nothing in their careers can match Gooch's batting against West Indies and Pakistan in the early 90s.

You're criminally underrating Haze. On his day, he's the most metronomic bowler ever.

Haze in between an amazing spell. Starc was arguably the best bowler in the last Ashes, but for some reason he's looked innocuous since.

Hypothetically if we had the ability to time travel and let's say someone from the 80s read this...

    Matthew Hayden vs Joe Root

Hayden a good player of lateral movement? Not at all. Root overall, and I doubt if the comparison is legit here even.
  13. K

    Curtly Ambrose vs Dale Steyn

Ambrose. That discomforting bounce coupled with a perfect yorker made him impossible to handle at prime.

Which ATG bowlers can defeat these batsmen?

Viv - Warne Lara - McGrath Tendulkar - Easy, McGrath Steve Smith - Peak Akram bowling from around the wicket. Would make it very hard for Smith to shuffle across and play on leg-side. Gavaskar - Hadlee or Lillee on a seaming wicket. Great against pace, ok against lateral movement. Kallis -...

Jasprit Bumrah vs. Ian Bishop - the better test bowler

Bumrah is already 4th best from subcontinent after Wasim, Imran and Waqar. By the end of his career, we will find if he has toppled anyone from top 3.

What will Pat Cummins’ legacy be?

Second best quick after McGrath, better than Lillee.

Why haven't India won an ICC trophy since 2013?

Winning world events is not meant to be a routine thing, unless you are as good as Phelps or Bolt. South Africa hasn't won any major icc event, but they are not pushover either.

Great way to throw the advantage. This Indian team is similar to the Pakistani team of early 2000s, always counting on the bowlers to do the job.
