    *Official* Australia in India 2023

This is similar to Ind vs Aus 2018. Australia doing well against an under strength team India.
  2. CodeOfWisden

    Mathew Hayden vs Virender Sehwag

Sehwag is the GOAT spin basher, no one comes close.
  3. CodeOfWisden

Geoffrey Boycott vs AB de Villiers

People who think that Boycott was a better test bat than Ab should be made to watch Boycott's batting for 8 hours.
  4. CodeOfWisden

    Kagiso Rabada vs Shaun Pollock

    Rabadas strike rate is 39!!

It was 20 years ago yesterday...

If you look at his averages both home and away in the last 10 years, he is basically an atg for those 10 years. Which is equal to some other great bowler who just played for 10 years.

    Bairstow or Brook?

How is this even a fkin question? You just drop Foakes, easy! Specialist wicketkeeper are a thing of the past.

What qualifies as a Wasted Talent?

    Yuvraj Singh

Batting and bowling strikerates: how much do they matter?

Sehwag's test str rate is higher than Hayden's Odi str rate. And Hayden was an aggressive batsman Sehwag was just crazy.

Rank Mahela Jayawardene, Inzy, Chanderpaul and Mo-Yo

Inzi Chanderpaul (more balanced less impactful) Mahela Yousuf. All of them borderline atgs

Where will Kohli end up among Asian batsmen?

You didn't really watch YK in England, he has done nothing there except a 200 on a flatty which inflates his average.

Where will Kohli end up among Asian batsmen?

Yeah, Younis khan (4 centuries in SENA) is better than Kohli (11 centuries in SENA). Ye he definitely needs to do a lot to get into the Dravid, Sanga league but lol at YK.

    Rahul Dravid vs Javed Miandad

Surprised to see people rating Dravid in a different league. I will say it's Dravid but by a small margin. Dravids record in Aus is bad actually - as bad as Miandad in WI. He only made runs against a weak Aus side and even Dizzy and Lee were injured for some part AFAIK. But yes one thing...
  13. CodeOfWisden

    Joe Root is number one

Yes. That's the benchmark. The previous number one had all his centuries in Australia. Looks like the standards are dropping gradually.
  14. CodeOfWisden

    Wasim Akram vs Dennis Lillee

Dennis Lillee ahead of Akram in tests.
  15. CodeOfWisden

    *Official* Australia in Pakistan 2022

    They don't have one.

Best team since Waugh/ Ponting’s Australia?

Smith's SA is better than Kohli’s India but couldn't beat Dhoni's India. Don't ask me how it makes sense, it just does.

The CricketWeb comprehensive list of ALL TIME GREATS (ATGs) discussion

No, why would you take someone who averages 15 - 20 points lesser with the bat just so that you gain some uncertain advantage in catching. Wasim Bari won't get into the current Bangladeshi team(they would definitely prefer Liton) let alone Pakistan (Rizwan) or India(Pant). Wonder which species...

Best team since Waugh/ Ponting’s Australia?

If we go by achievements, then Kohli’s India. If we hypothetically put them on a field and simulate the result via cricket captain or something then definitely Graeme Smith's Saffers. Kohli's team is all heart.

Farokh Engineer above Kirmani for sure. Played as an opener for India and averaged 33, was an aggressive stroke maker unlike the boring wicketkeepers of the past.
