Group B - Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Bangladesh could be a tricky Super 8 opponent presuming they get there. Beating India will put them half way there and at this stage, that looks very likely.

Group D - Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland

what a terrible performance by Pakistan but you gotta hand it to Ireland, they've really made a giant step up in this tournament.

Group C - New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

Did you ever take into account that the pressure of the match might have gotten to the players a little. First up match for both teams in the Cup and it's the most important pool match. Most other top sides are belting the minnows right now. You wait till Australia play South Africa.

dear oh dear. Scaly hasn't liked NZ for awhile now.

Gilchrist says NZ is the team to beat

http://content-nz.cricinfo.com/wc2007/content/story/285561.html Michael Hussey and now Adam Gilchrist have suggested NZ will be tough. edit: sorry I should have said "Gilchrist says NZ COULD be the team to beat"

    New Zealand Youth

I think Tim Southee is going to rise the ranks pretty quickly.

    Next in line for NZ

Well its on a bbc messageboard, im not convinced about the credibility. It would be a disaster if NZ lost Ryder though...but I think it would highlight yet again that Ryder thinks he is bigger than the game if you hear about his previous history. The fact that the poster has also mentioned...

    Good youth talent?

Corey Anderson must be very highly rated if Canterbury are willing to put a fast bowler into a First class match at the age of 16. Canterbury must win this match to make the State Championship final. I think Tim Southee could make a rapid rise in the next season or 2 as well.

    Good youth talent?

Its positive to see a bit of batting talent around NZ but I still feel we're lacking good up & coming pace bowlers. Ian Butler might not be the same again, Richard Sherlock will probably give the game away soon if his problems persist and Te Ahu Davis has suffered a few injuries as well as lack...

Group C - New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

The worry for me about NZ is that our bowling bench strength is not particularly good aside from Jeetan Patel. The loss of Kyle Mills was a killer blow and that might be crucial if we make it as far as the semi finals. Our batting order is developing really well but I think after the World Cup...

Which team has the worst bowling attack among the top8?

Gillespie is hardly proven, but he's shown potential. And don't forget Kyle Mills, he has made some big improvements over the last 18 months. Jeetan Patel hasn't exactly let down New Zealand when he's played either.

    Good youth talent?

There was an article on Kane Williamson about 2 or 3 years ago when he scored like 4 consecutive centuries at an U17 tournament at the age of 13. He's still very young and needs some time yet, but he's already got alot of people talking..much like when Ross Taylor and Jesse Ryder were coming...

Which team has the worst bowling attack among the top8?

NZ's attack will suit this World Cup. NZ are winning matches yet we have the worst death bowling record of all the top nations. So how much better would NZ get if they managed to dramatically improve their death bowling?

That just shows that teams can't take the minnows lightly. NZ and England will have to be extremely careful when they take on Kenya.

the best wicket keeper in w cup

McCullum is wayyy better than Dhoni with the gloves!

Yep it's really good that we bounced back from that disappointing result to Bangladesh. The fact that we were defending the target was even better because we haven't really done that recently. I think the spinners will be important in this Cup and the fact that we put on 285 against Sri Lanka...

The West Indies will surely not lose to Kenya. Kenya are doing ok but they would need something very special.

NZ will be pleased that they got 2 decent warm ups I reckon. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. England got Bermuda!!! and that game won't tell them very much it would seem!
