My first test series watched was 1978/79 WSC depleted Ashes but I've tried to wipe that from my memory (although Kim Hughes, Allan Border and Rodney Hogg were pretty good) 😉
don't worry, you're not the only one who tries to forget the first Ashes they watched (1993).

Watching cricket in 1979/80 Dennis Lillee was ranked the best Australian pace bowler ever, while Greg Chappell was ranked the 2nd best bat after Bradman.

Nothing I've seen since changes my thoughts on that, so Chappell/Lillee is my pick (maybe Ponting/McGrath might have been close if an option)
Just for clarification, you think Lillee > McGrath and Chappell > Smith?

I'd you look up the posting history of his previous account which I'm conveniently overlooking on a daily basis, he actually thinks that Thommo was better than McGrath as well.
Naw that’s actually kind of sweet of you. But personally I was unaware of this account.

Really, I started posting in 2004 and had pretty good posting history for 16 years as one of the first members. Then in 2020 I had covid restrictions and family tragedies drive me over the mental edge and I got myself banned. I didn't come back for over 2 years but since then also have a good posting history if 2222 positive reactions from 4193 posts means anything.

But time to go again if a mod is "conveniently overlooking on a daily basis" my posts.as a previous member. When did that ever become a crime by the way as I'm not using multiple accounts?

I'm out. Thanks for the chats.
Dude that sucks, please don't leave though. You have some good sharings.

Chill, my dude.

I have no idea what the context is with your history, but everything in this conversation strikes me as friendly ribbing. Mods do that too.

Now just admit that Hoggard > Lillee, and keep posting.
