Fun fact: there are only 31 pace bowlers who have taken 200 ODI wkts. Shami's economy rate of 5.57 is the worst of those 31
So top 10 is going a bit too far (top 25 for sure)

And the best strike rate too. His WC record is comparable only to Starc and McGrath, and both of them would make the top ten.
Arguably the best first change bowler in ODIs as well.
And he probably has the best strike rate out of those 31. High risk, high reward.

Amazed how close Starc and Shami's records are
Starc: 127 games, 244 wkts @ 23.40, econ 5.26, SR 26.6, 1.92 wpm, 12 - 4W, 9 - 5W
Shami: 105 games, 202 wkts @ 23.85, econ 5.57, SR 25.6, 1.92 wpm, 10 - 4W, 6 - 5W

Yeah. Both have great WC records too; Shami's record is probably better and could surpass Starc's wicket tally in the next WC.

I'm interested by all the votes for Rashid Khan when he has a poor record against good teams.

Youve convinced me so I just changed my vote from Rashid Khan to Shami
(Nah, didn't realise Shami's record is almost as good as Starc)

He is one of the most overrated going (still good but not an ATG, sorta like RTD having h4x figures for the same reason)

Rashid Khan's stats are certainly impressive, but often playing against minnows it his hard to align him with most other candidates being nominated.
Until Warne was voted in, all the players had an average under 25. Averages shouldn't be the only consideration with strike rate a vital aspect. From this point of view only Ambrose has a SR > 40. I regard Economy Rate as important but, with the modern game, it is hard to line up current players against players from earlier decades. This is illustrated by Starc and Shami having ECs > 5 (which is balanced by their excellent Strike Rates).
All of these factors (Ave, Sr & ER) influence my voting.

Yeah I am less hyped about Shami than most. He often gets wickets at death when batters are hitting out. His ability to contain scoring is not particularly great.

WC games are just another ODI. Crazy that some people think WC games with all the minnows are better than the Australia tri-seres in the 1980-90's (just one example)
In Shami's era it does hold true that WCs are more competitive than random bilaterals.
