Also what is it with so many teams visiting the subcontinent being intent on committing suicide by sweep shot?
Complete inability to judge the spin/flight of the ball is what I’ve seen. The sweep is a legitimate shot for some batters (I always think of Younis Khan) but these guys are pulling it out as a get out of jail shot. Sometimes I don’t even think they are looking at the ball after it pitches. Braithwaite looks terrible sweeping in particular.

Kemar Roach has obvious holes in his record but I think it his service to West Indian cricket has to be commended. For over 15 years it’s been Roach + other seamers in this pace attack. I can’t even recall all the times I turn a West Indian test on and he is trying to fiddle his way to a 20 odd to save some face for the side. If he was half as good everywhere else as he is in the West Indies he would be held in much higher esteem.

Sinclair's figures look absolutely horrendous in the context of the match and how the other spinners have gone. Did he bowl as badly as that looks?
I didn't see very much of play, but he seemed to be getting remarkably little out of the pitch compared to everyone else.

Fair play to Braithwaite here. I didn't think he could play aggressively even if it looks like he has to force himself to do so.

That was hilarious. Two lbws overturned on consecutive balls. Sajid is turning it square all of a sudden.

Makes one wonder if he'd have a better Test record had he dedicated himself to batting at a better tempo earlier in his career.
He does get bogged down with being ultra defensive. Today he played his shots. Good to see and on a difficult deck too. One of his best half-centuries in his career I think.

He's played some really impressive innings which is why there is some frustration with his average being so low ..

He's carried his bat in an innings which a lot of great openers have never managed, he once scored 90 odd out of 148 vs Australia, he's the only opener to be unbeaten in both innings of a completed test match..
