***Official*** West Indies Tour of Pakistan- TEST SERIES- Jan 16 to 28, 2025

This was our best win in the WTC cycle.

It was empathetic…on a wicket that favor our bowlers in our region who have dominated the regional cricket recently. Rahkeem is obviously missing.

Motie’s growth as an all-rounder is shaping up nicely. Warrican also showed that he is not a mook with the bat.

Early days for Jangoo and Imlach but they looked good at times (I haven’t watched much)…good to have that depth in wicket keeper batsmen.

Regarding Kraigg. His biggest enemy is himself sometimes. If he played more according to the match situation, his average would be higher.

Now, onto the Regional 4-day championship which will start soon.

I feel Pakistan’s tactic of producing turners certainly isn’t a bad one, it was perfect against England who are pathetic at playing spin, and whose main spinner is an, erm, work in progress, whereas the Windies have a better stock of spinners than us (plus, sometimes if you produce pitches that spin too much, you run the risk of making the game a complete crapshoot where any old spinner can take wickets)

The Gabba win ensured our first win in Australia since 1998 (?)

This one was our first win in Pakistan in 34 years…and only the 5th win overall
Last win was in 1990. After that, WI only toured Pakistan twice. That was in 1997 and 2006 (3 tests each).

So WI have won a test in Pakistan after 8 tests.

Their win in Aus was after 17 tests and after no wins in 5 series.

go check who was in their bowling attack back then. its no great surprise they never won.
My thoughts precisely. It shows the importance of a test class bowling attack. Our bowlers deserve a lot of recognition, they have caused pretty much every team they have faced significant trouble. The only series I can think of where they were useless was Australia in 2023 and that was an injury decimated lineup.

Our bowlers can take 20 wickets against anyone which means we can burgle the odd test if even a couple of batters turn up. Gabba and Multan tests are perfect examples.

Imlach's keeping was unreal. I haven't seen a West Indies keeper that good behind the stumps for a long time.
