Perth can be extremely flat, but tbh I remember lots of times where openers took Shoaib apart, I'm pretty sure both Jaya and Tresco did it too.Sehwag did on a flat Multan track. Ponting did in Perth.
He has two more against Shoaib, Ponting.Centuries against pacers(150+ wkts & avg < 25)
Ponting
1997 : Donald & Pollock
1999 : Ambrose & Walsh

Brian Lara
1997 : McGrath
1999 : McGrath x 3
2000 : McGrath
2003 : Pollock x 2

I mean he doesn't average 50 + in any host countries (top teams) except sl , Root has way better record than this.
edit that out with someone else rnI mean he doesn't average 50 + in any host countries (top teams) except sl , Root has way better record than this.
Lara isn't a home bully he just has an unusually padded away record with some middling returns.
mfs would whine about Root and Dravid's away record and then give Lara a free pass smh
When you split records into country by country, averages don’t mean much. What matters is making big scores and having big series.I mean he doesn't average 50 + in any host countries (top teams) except sl , Root has way better record than this.
tbh the Lara lone wolf narrative is stupid, in the 2000s he had Gayle/Hooper/Chanders, all top class batters, agreed on other two.1. Flamboyant batting style
2. Numerous double centuries, 375 & 400
3. WI failing and him playing a lone wolf
That’s why fans are more lenient on him compared to other great batsmen who have flaws in his record
Isn't joe root also a lone warrior till the Entry of bazball and brook?1. Flamboyant batting style

from 2017-2022 he was, basically once Cook forgot how to bat and we had Rory Burns, Leeds and Joe Denly opening. Just a horrid era.Isn't joe root also a lone warrior till the Entry of bazball and brook?
Well, if we are stooping down to the levels of cherry-picking specific instances of batsmen getting hit/injured by fast bowlers just to prove a point, that can be done for any batsman (including the best of the best). Here goes...When was that? Because Ponting played Shoaib more comfortably than any other batter I saw.
Lara...
Shoaib was a better bowler on abrasive wickets anyway. Rate Sehwag's triple and Dravid's 270 pretty highly because of that tbh even though the non Shoaib bowlers were terrible.Sehwag did on a flat Multan track. Ponting did in Perth.
Lmao Ponting btfo. Although both Sachin and Ponting walked those off pretty well tbh. Badass.Well, if we are stooping down to the levels of cherry-picking specific instances of batsmen getting hit/injured by fast bowlers just to prove a point, that can be done for any batsman (including the best of the best). He maintained marnus lebuschagne level consistency.
Was he totally inconsistent after mid 90s ?what a comparison
