Lara's record in Aus is probably the only meh part of his stats overall. Only crossed 50 4 times in 27 innings after his first series there. Extremely rocks or diamonds.
The problem is Lara's away record is more padded than it first appears with not the same degree of quality smattering against better pacers.

Because his big knocks take the headlines.

For example, his 400 came after a series where he largely failed. Same for tons in series in Australia.
Best player since Bradman at setting games up when he got going? That was his great gift. Daddy hundreds at a good tick. He was a patchy player in tough conditions but a proper monster at going big on his day.

Can we talk how Lara 2003 in SA was as good as any of Ponting's there and he scored 7 runs less than the highest scorer in his only other Saffa tour
