***Official*** West Indies Tour of Pakistan- TEST SERIES- Jan 16 to 28, 2025

Well both teams picked three specialist spinners, fairly expected.

Not convinced Warrican really adds much as third spinner that Hodge couldn't do anyway though.
Warrican is in there because of his captain’s preference ( both Bajans).

His style is rather boring , I guess.

it might work on this wicket…let’s see

Stapel

International Regular
Now, here's Windies XI:

1. Kraigg Brathwaite *
2. Mikyle Louis
3. Keacy Carty
4. Kavem Hodge
5. Alick Athanaze
6. Justin Greaves
7. Tevin Imlach
8. Kevin Sinclair
9. Gudakesh Motie
10. Jomel Warrican
11. Amir Jangoo
12. Jayden Seales

This is the 12 that Windies have provided...JDS is dropped...Roach is injured, and Anderson Phillip unlikey to get picked on this wicket...

And they have confirmed a debut for Imlach...I think Jangoo gets a debut as well and he'll take the gloves (because he's the best gloveman in the region)

KC will have to make way...

3 spinners as well
KC is in. Cricinfo has Amir Jangoo as keeper.
Anyway: somewhat surprised JdS was dropped. Thoughts?

Having Pakistan 4 down for nothing and then allowing them to end the day without losing any further wickets shows a few things I like about test cricket.

Faced with adversity, you can either battle it out or run away. Saud and Rizwan did the former and they bat until the cows came home. Big plus and boost for Pakistan.

Having the opposition in that position, you need to set attacking fields to twist the knife in their gut. This was reflected in the low number of maidens that was bowled. The two batters absorbed any pressure that was there and then turn it back against the bowlers.

Good test cricket.
