How often do they play double headers at the Basin?

Four this season. Think it's usually about that number.

Between the other 10 batsmen they only needed to score 104 off 89. There is a collective responsibility instead of blaming g the only guy who turned up and tried to drag the team to victory. The game was probably the best domestic T20 game I've ever seen live.

This is rather my point. He didn't need to play that way anymore. He'd broken the back of the chase. And yes, he was Wellington's best player, and the top order are more at fault for the defeat than he. Nonetheless when you need 40 off 6 overs with a set batsman at the crease and not a lot of batting to come, the onus is on that guy to play it smart. He really didn't.

Nevin was basically a pauper's Gilchrist in ODI's, and quite possibly the worst with the gloves of any keeper I've seen represent NZ. I'd say the selectors were mad to ever give him a shot ahead of Parore, but given how much of a dickhead Adam was I kinda get it.

I Nevin got picked initially after Parore got injured halfway through a series against Australia (the one where Brett Lee knocked Parore's helmet off and it landed on the stumps). The innings that got him in contention was 149 off 115 balls in a List A game at the Basin after Roger Twose promoted him to bat 3. Someone has interviewed him about his career. Discusses keeping to Heath Davis as a 16 yr old, differences in training between when he started and now, Wellington dressing room, and his time in the Black Caps. One of the things he mentions is the lack of consistency in selection that made it hard to play with confidence. They've obviously gone the other way now where players get an extended run in the side.

Findlay is an interesting young seam bowler. Into the side as a 21 yr old with all the change-ups and variations for short form cricket. Doesn't really look like he has a stock fast ball. Most young seamers are the other way round, of course.

Still, he's tall and lean and looks like he should have the potential to bowl 130 and become a first-class bowler too.

McLean Park is now the forgotten ground as far as international cricket in NZ is concerned. Has been supplanted by Bay Oval.

One of the clearest cases you'll see of a player being blocked from national duty by a same-typed player. Just never likely to get a look-in while Santner exists.

He’d go all right in the T20 leagues. Spinners are very much de rigeur in T20 at the moment.

It's mostly just attributes-type thinking: he's a flight-focused bowler who looked excellent in the Plunket games he was selected for this season. I can see him being a real challenge in tests.

He's hittable at times in the Super Smash, a competition in which it is impossible for spinners to go for more than 8 runs an over. I fear that will be accentuated against batsmen who can play spin.

Seriously. On Lennox, I've thought he should get next A tour as all formats spinner to see what he can do. And anyway, he looks the best spinner on the circuit under 36 years old. So, a spring chicken.

Interesting that I have the opposite perception, though you probably watch more FC than me. I see Lennox as a white-ball-first bowler who bowled plenty of flat darts and variations and first got noticed for that. I think @Flem274* was talking about him several years ago as a T20 maybe-NZ bowler.

It's only this season in FC wicket highlights I've noticed him flight and turn a few.

Overall, I think he's a clever bowler and could possibly do a job for NZ, but not while Santner already does that job.
