I suspect SA will regret bowling out Pakistan for quite as low as they did. If they had scored circa 300 runs first dig and batted another 30 or so overs, then SA would likely never have enforced the follow on.

Even so, just a lick over 33 for the home summer. Hasn't looked bad from what I've seen of the 4 tests and I've watched a reasonable amount, although less so this game.

They’ll get the win, and although the bowlers will be tired, they won’t have another Test to play for ages yet, so it’s worked out rather well unless one of them pulls up now
It's not like the old days where players play 1 format , most of these guys will play SA T20 league , then the tri series in preparation for the Champions Trophy, the champions trophy and then there is IPL cricket so they aren't really going to have a break ..Any chance to make bowlers lives easier must be taken , we risked injury to our bowlers with an unnecessary follow on.

Well done to SA!

Us being bunnies in SA continues. Our last Test win was in 2007, where Asif, Shoaib, and Inzi ran rampant. What a match/series that was. It's been pretty pathetic since then.

Having said that, I am pleasantly surprised we lost by 10 wickets and not 4 innings and 100 runs. First Test was also very close. There's a backbone here, just need some muscle.

I'd like to watch us win a test in SA/Australia in my lifetime. That remains a dream for now. The batting in our first innings of this test was pathetic but it's not been a terrible tour otherwise. We desperately need to find some faster bowlers who can make things happen with the old ball. Lacking such bowlers entirely and also having a batting lineup that can collapse on any road isn't ideal. SA's batting, on the other hand, looks like it's finding its groove in tests. Strong showings since the Bangladesh series albeit against mid bowling. Hope they smash Australia in the WTC final.

7 Test wins in a row that must be some kind of national record ..Great stuff !
From March 2002 to May 2003 we won 9 in a row.
  • 1 win vs Australia at home
  • 2 wins vs Bangladesh at home
  • 2 wins vs Sri Lanka at home
  • 2 wins vs Pakistan at home
  • 2 wins vs Bangladesh away
The streak was broken by a draw in England.

We have actually been quite ok in Aus and South Africa in the last two tours even if results don’t show should have won a test each in both the series . In SENA it’s imperative for a subcontinent side to press home and get the win when they are in a position of strength since you will not compete in every game in our last 3 tours of England, Aus and SA a test each was dropped from a winning position it’s like players don’t believe they can win in SENA and drop the ball (literally)

Anyways going forward it’s imperative that PCB finds a way to keep the main pacers interested in test cricket I am astounded Shaheen is playing league in Bangladesh while test series is ongoing in good bowling conditions atleast they were in the first test ,even West Indies have been able to keep seales shamari and alziri focused and playing tests yet Pakistan is struggling to make Shaheen and Naseem give test cricket main priority

I only just noticed that Maphaka had been given his debut - that's kind of awesome tbh, looked by far the best player at the U19 WC
Great fightback shown by Pak but now Pak will be stuck with Masood forever. Must say SA are a very mediocre team these days, Pak at their worst are giving them a good fight in their own conditions. If this was played in Pak, not sure SA would have even taken it to a 5th day.
Are you delusional ?

I only remember the 2007 series when Paul Harris destroyed Pakistan lol
