I rate Bradman higher for his bowling.
I made a best cricketers list. Check it out:-
1) Roger Woakes
2) Anirudhsinh
3) Garner (for his batting, and fielding)
4) Bradman (a bit overrated, but useful bowler)
5) Sachin (can spin the ball as much as Cornwall)

An authoritative list?

Why weren’t we getting these comparisons during the NZ series?

Anyway to answer the question, Marshall, easily.

Higher WPM despite also playing in a strong attack, and a lot more draws so less overall pool of wickets to take. Takes 5’fers and 10’fers more often.
Bumrah's WPM in away matches is over 5 tho.

And don't think Marshall ever took 35 runs in an over.

Marshall played alongside Roberts, Holding, Garner, Walsh & Ambrose.

Considering Bumrah has played outside India for the majority of his matches, he has nowhere the support that Maco had.
Serous question.

How many wickets did Bumrah get this series that he wouldn't have got if he had stronger support.

And it's not impacting his average becuse they have been clueless against him.

He came back to clean up the tail in each of the last two innings.

You can make this argument the other way and it works better.

"Serious question do you think Marshall would have been able to average less than 21 if he had ****ing siraj and akash deep as his support bowlers?

Bumrah is putting up numbers Marshall couldn't reach without half the support. Imagine how much lower bumrah would have averaged if bowlers like ambrose and garner kept pressure from the other end insane to even think about. Batsman would just forfeit the innings before facing a ball"

The main reason people don't put bumrah over Marshall is lonegtetivety which is fair enough for now but I think just quality bumrah is ahead now

That Marshall couldn't, cool.

Good talk.

It's fair to say though that Bumrah has been bowling to a weaker Australian batting line up collectively. Plenty of visiting bowlers have bowled to better/stronger Australian batting lineups in years gone by. I mean seriously Australia's batting has been brittle.....for a while actually.

Having said that all of that, Bumrah is still world class though....outstanding bowler. It just seems he is getting more attention from the cricketing world due to his fantastic Test series in Australia.

Let's revisit this thread in 3 to 5 years and see how things have transpired for Bumrah.

But currently in this Border-Gavaskar Test series, he has been the player of the series.

Marshall took 6 wickets a game in his peak with top support around. That's a different measure of stat greatness.

Bumrah hasn't achieved that level of WPM except for this series.
At this stage of their careers their WPM are very similar but Bumrah is a standard deviation ahead in average
