Looking through this thread, I'm seeing skepticism ascribed towards the savior of Indian cricket (nay Test cricket as a sport!), NK Reddy.

I find everyone's lack of faith disturbing. Obviously he's a young player whose role is settling in, but one would have imagined he would get more opportunity this Test than his severe underutilization, especially after his heroic debut performance of the 1st Test.

As is, Not Outs severely deflating his batting average, and underbowling artificially suppressing his bowling WPM.

i think that rana was a bad pick for the day-nighter and either jadeja or a swingy third bowler and giving more of a chance to reddy was the play

rana was a decent heavy ball merchant in perth but was always going to get plonked here

Getting plonked in more docile, pre-lights conditions is fine but he was bowling either side with no control of length. Might've driven a few nails into his future Test prospects with this showing.

The worst thing about following this team is they either win or lose in 3 days and then we have to spend the next 2 just carrying on with our miserable lives with no distractions

Looks good batting in white ball cricket and was the kind of role player they wanted in the squad (batting allrounder who bowled seam up).

We have another 21 year old pace bowling all rounder called raj bawa( was part of u19wc winning team) he is much quicker better bowler and batter. He is doing well this year in ranji trophy hopefully in a year or two he would be in nt so that nitish can play as batter. Nitish has good technique and looked more solid then kohli or sharma

That's correct. Rana isn't tier 1 yet. He's been thoroughly exposed as the weakest link. Shami and Akash deep are Tier 1 so 3rd test will be interesting. Jadeja must play over Ash in the future. Ash isn't quite up to it in Australia, never has been.

Likely Boland will play the final two tests given his consistency and swing. Boland has a very good record in Australia.

I think Rohit is quite self aware. He will retire after this series if we don't make it to WTC final. If we do he'd retire after the final.
