**Official** 2nd Test @Adelaide, 6th-10th December

Nah it's fantastic. The ball's in play. Batsman needs to be on their toes and ready for the attempted run out. Whereas with Siraj the other day I don't think the ball was even in play. Johnson did a similar thing to Pierersen in the 2013/14 Ashes out here.

Siraj couldn't even throw the ball at the batsman properly. Sad. He seems very uptight atm. He should head out to the Valley the night before the test and get a root tbh. Might relax him a bit.
Got any loose women you know that you could introduce him to?

Whatever it takes!!!
What biased idiots like tbb and tjb forget is the fact that I called giving send-offs cowardly and defended the right of any batsman to say something back to the bowler if the bowler starts the verbals and giving them a send-off. I was just genuinely surprised Head started the verbals when all Siraj did was scream at the batsman, which happens far too often in cricket. I was surprised because Head is usually a cool cat and this hardly seemed to be something that would rile up anyone, let alone someone as chill as Head. I mean, I dont think peak Kohli would have given a second look if a bowler acted like thatupon getting him out for 140 when his team was well on their way to a win.

Anyways, as this will probably be the last post of mine in this thread and on this topic, I think I have found out the real reason Siraj acts the way he does. He is just a big fan of this movie

Honestly Siraj could've called Head a white **** and hb would've found a way to defend it. Embarrassing posting. It's just pure whataboutery. Australia's track record is pretty bad historically but I don't see how that excuses Siraj's actions.
Shots fired.

Seriously though I agree with OS that Siraj's actions were basically fine, but it is hard to deny that it's the sort of incident we knew honestbharani would become obsessed with posting about and take the side of the Indian player. In a bubble his position is fine but the pattern is probably what's pissing people off.

Pattern? More like outright propaganda from information minister comical ali. He's had one more last post on the matter just before yours.

Siraj was charged with using actions, gestures etc that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter. Travis for abuse. The article I read didn't identify which actions from Siraj were punished. But it does indicate the incident was provoked by him which is what clearly happened in celebration and send off. The relative penalties seem to apportion blame to him as well.

I'm surprised fans can't just admit to what happened. It's not some form of treason to criticise your players when they behave like jerks. What is also kind of interesting is why Siraj is so irksome yet Kohli (I think) is respected despite his many provocations and brain explosions. Maybe people think Kohli is just hot blooded and can relate to and accept that. Whereas Siraj just seems a sneak who provokes and then doesn't take responsibility for it.

Kohli would be the most popular cricketer in Australia if he was Australian; he's cut out from that old-school cloth in everything he does. It helps that he's consistently performed down here and he's one of the great batsmen of his generation ofc.

That all counts and he’s been good from the get go. I remember an occasion, possibly from his first tour here, when it was clear he was good but before he became “The Kohli”.

He was getting razzed and turned to the crowd and flipped the bird. Might not be appropriate but it shows his character and that he’s got fight. You can’t really hate on a guy like that. He can be a knob but he’s been one of the best to play out here. Will miss his style when he retires.

Kohli's the most important Indian cricketer of all time. Siraj is a flat foot from Telengana.

I’d drop Rohit and Kohli if I could. Don’t even care who replaces them at this point though it’s not exactly very inspiring.
There's no way I'm dropping Kohli of all people in the middle of a tour to Australia when he's scored a ton. Even in his worst form he's more likely to get a score here than any replacement. Move on from him after the tour if you want to, not right now.
2 tests later and I hope you’re happy. he’s cooked. just let him go already.
