He also rarely defends with an angled bat, even if his feet aren’t where they’re “meant” to be. Brilliant playerYeah, the noticeable thing is that even though his body position is often miles from textbook when he defends he consistently gets it right in the centre.
Hmm, looked a bit length to me. I'd be keener to have a closer look early on in Perth with a brand new ball. He's known as a dasher and it didn't serve him wellThe choice of shot was ok imo. Was a driveable length, he just got nowhere near it with his foot.
Seemed full ish to me. Might have to watch a replay I guess.Nah it was nowhere near driveable IMO. You have to put that shot away until you're well set unless it's a proper road.
He would average like 21 if he was English and would be rated as an ATGHow many wickets would Josh Hazlewood have taken in his career if he was English ?
True, but he's so skillful. Has all the attributes. I think he'd adapt and take bag loadsNo more IMO, it's his extra bounce combined with his accuracy that works so well on Aussie tracks, even the flat ones.
He just needs to tighten up and play compactly in SENA conditions. Hes only young and will hopefully adjust. It’s just hard to do when you play on certain conditions where playing away from your body doesn’t hurt you as muchSeemed full ish to me. Might have to watch a replay I guess.
Regardless, he doesnt seem to play the balls angling away particularly comfortably. Wasn't prepared to write him off after the rough SA tour he had because the pitches were ridiculous but the signs werent great there either.
~280 wickets at a little over 24 is an incredible record. Great bowler, just overshadowed by Cummins since his emergence, but he's been their best bowler recently.Millions. Criminally underated bowler.
Why I picked the lad as the top wicket taker of the series.~280 wickets at a little over 24 is an incredible record. Great bowler, just overshadowed by Cummins since his emergence, but he's been their best bowler recently.
I meant to say no more, but no less. He would have an equally good record (well average at least) if he played for England.True, but he's so skillful. Has all the attributes. I think he'd adapt and take bag loads
Yeah, there was one block some time in the first session that stuck in my mind. He was curled way over yet the bat came through straight and he got it dead in the middle. Like he knew exactly where the ball was going to be.He also rarely defends with an angled bat, even if his feet aren’t where they’re “meant” to be. Brilliant player
Since 2020He would average like 21 if he was English and would be rated as an ATG
He's bowled a lot on some of the flattest home pitches in Aus history too. The ones that Warner, Burns, Marnus etc have feasted on and boosted their averages. Better than his stats suggestTrue, but he's so skillful. Has all the attributes. I think he'd adapt and take bag loads

The main reason he doesn't have 350ish wickets already is fitness, which probably would be an even bigger problem if he played for England with how much cricket they're expected to play. But this last two summers he might be in close to career best form, he has been utterly relentless~280 wickets at a little over 24 is an incredible record. Great bowler, just overshadowed by Cummins since his emergence, but he's been their best bowler recently.
