Dropping Ashwin overseas as consistently as we have has always been dumb, but honestly when I saw that Jadeja wasnt in the XI today I legit did a double take. It makes absolutely no sense. Even if they wanted to make those two the scapegoats of the NZ loss (rather than some batsmen who have gotten a 5 year leash of being allowed to be trash), Jadeja picked up 16 wickets @20 that series anyway.
If it doesnt come out that he's injured, its one of the absolute worst selection calls I've ever seen.

I don't think his critics ever thought he wasn't capable of scoring 40 odd tbf.
It is a really weird pick though, especially to bat eight. Wait until you see him bowl.

His bowling is worse. From what I've seen, he hates pitching it up. And then after a few overs of short pitched trash he'll remember what he's doing wrong and try a yorker at 130kph.
