Stubbs is a generational talent. But batting him at 3 in this line up is going to kill him. Bavuma is a much better option in current line up
Bavuma is captain and wants to bat 4, has hardly ever batted 3. Of those in this side rickelton is actually the one who has opened and batted 3 most at fc level.

I was excited for this series but there's not a lot going here and not much at stake. Would need a miracle and a monumental ****up for this to not get drawn.

Brathwaite quite content to block Maharaj, not even attempting to rotate strike or put pressure on the bowler.
Something like this, blocking out an over without seeming to advance the game forward is backward minded…the bowlers who bowl at him take it as a victory to see a maiden to their name.

He’s gonna score a century but at that point the game would have already sunk deeper in the abyss of perpetual draw.

You can see why both teams are at the bottom of the test championship. Archaic cricket on a road.

Have to understand where SA is coming from…only 2 players in this XI participated in their previous test match. Which gives us the bigger outlook on SA’s approach to this format.

Also, I think that SA when they batted look like a lighter version of modern version of England batters. Zorzi and Bedingham definitely were playing risk free and ambitious cricket. They played accordingly to the wicket, just have to trust themselves and push it further.

EDIT: changed Bedingfield to Bedingham

Every player in that top 7 can get on with it. SA definitely don't have an Elgar/Prince type in that lineup at the moment.

Windies have been playing for stumps since they got back onto the field. 6 runs in the last 10 overs. Guyana will be fun.
